He has a loyal korean fanbase it seems, who 1st watched My Perfect Stranger , then switched over to a different channel right after to also watch Delightfully Deceitful. (Also Chun Woo Hee being a well-respected Chungmuro actress in korea probably helps too)

OH NO! I also HATE that trope!! It's just so ridiculous, since when do two people having a connection need to meet in childhood first for the connection to be valid lol only in dramaland.....

BUT in this case though, that might INDEED MEAN ROMANCE , YES PLEASE Dongwook & Wohee are both my biases, plus they look good together NEED THIS!! So, I'll be fine with it, if there's romance later....

Aish you must've missed some great dramas doing this. 😅

For example Vincenzo was total trash first two eps lol 😅but became so good starting in ep 3; All Of Us Are Dead didn't pick up until ep 3-4, Majority of romance dramas the leads don't properly meet/interact until end of ep1/start of ep 2, The Last Empress lead actor only appeared in around ep5 onwards once plot was built up, Lee Jae Wook didn't appear in Search WWW until ep 7 etc.

They've been irl friends since university days, Yoon Park even said Kim Dong Wook was a reason he became an actor. KDW was famous before YP, while they were already friends & thus inspired him.

Hopefully this drama would later have some BROMANCE between them, why waste the real life bromance!!

(You Are My Spring made sense why no bromance, Yoon Park's character too creepy. Hopefully not creepy here again)

That's a very good start for a TvN drama, most dramas over there premiere with only about 1-2% ratings.

The Numbers posters here is decent though, showing the two main leads looking mysterious.
But this is really the bare mimimum for ok poster, and
See You In My 19th Life and King The Land just trash posters indeed. 😅

Black Knight, My Perfect Stranger also has pretty good posters.

"these days", drama posters have ALWAYS been bad-medicore at most. Some RARE times posters are good. They need better designers and/or stop controlling/ordering designers to make lame mediocre posters.
Netflix is generally a bit better at this.

It does. I immediately got more excited about the plot when actors starting describing it, realizing just how EPICALLY BAD the synopsis of this drama was 🤦🏻‍♀️


Just how many people will not watch this because of badly written synopsis, the synopsis writer should be ashamed of themselves/get fired etc.

Never judge a drama by ep 1, 99% are super boring on 1st ep 😅

Here's a much better synopsis, I'm paraphrasing the actors:

Two polar opposites (Lacks empathy FL & High empath ML) team up for revenge by commiting fraud together.

It's the satisfying story of watching Delightful Deceit take shape, and a lawyer teaming up with unexpected characters' outside the courtoom.
FL is an intriguing con artist with a genius skill of playing out various characters for her schemes.

ML tries to understand & protect FL, a love-hate between two people with a shared goal. They also have other helpers like a hacker, an engineer and a helping hand.

The description for this drama was bad & misleading from the get go, ever since it was announced.

The actors themselves did a much better job explaining it in their interview than what this crap synopsis did.

Plot sounded sort of boring/unclear until I heard actors desciptions of it; the plot is much more exciting than bad synopsis.

No actually you're right romance and other genre w romance subplot are two different things.

What I meant, was kdramas used to have more clear boundaries: romance dramas only and separate action/genre dramas with no romance. But nowadays it' smore blended & genre shows may also include subplot romance, whilst previously you could conclude a genre kdrama would have none, can't say the same anymore.

(This is a good thing imo, Most romance kdramas these days tend to be boring, while genre drama w romance make better romance stories imo. Aka. Vincenzo, Happiness better romance than many romcoms)

At presscon Kim Dong Wook said to wait until the end, didn't spoil yes/no.
They called it love/hate collab relationship in their interview, saying maybe more or maybe not. We'll just have to see.
