He learns Princess Lin An's real identity in ep 18. Personally, I thought it was funny and reveals something of…
TY! idk why mistaken identities get me so stressed in cdramas. I think part of it is that they build this chemistry under a certain identity and it is often undone as they get in trouble due to misunderstanding or just hurt/disappointed when the character realizes they were lied to. š«
can someone explain why he is acting out of character? They have shown him as someone who might use tricks but he doesnāt necessarily abuse his connections to take the easy road, yet he took his mistaken in with the āgrand princessā to directly challenge his supervisor. Am I misunderstanding his personality and ethics?
I really donāt like identity misunderstandings. when does this end with Xu Qian and Princess Lin An? I usually watch cdramas for romance, but I was actually enjoying this before they added in this arc. I hope the romance or whatever relationship they have doesnāt ruin the drama. *low level drama-stress* š„²
Second time around, eight years later, itās still just as awesome. They just donāt make them like this anymore! I didnāt skip or speed watch. I loved all the side characters and OTP was sweet and not over the top. Balanced ML and FL - both were smart and supported each other and held their own where it never felt like someone was overly committed or giving more than the other - the relationship was healthy.
I know. I have been on this website sinceā¦letās not say it because it will age me š I made that note since someone read it and mustāve been like āhuh?ā¦oh š ā
the concept was decent and execution was actually done fairly well. Unfortunately, I just couldnāt get with FL. If she was out on her own, I would be shouting āgirl power!ā BUT her personality next to ML looking like a sad and/or overly joyful puppy next to her just didnāt gel. Crazy antagonist shockingly said it best, ādo you feel a sense of accomplishment keeping him on a leash?ā ML was all sorts of green flag. Even the acts out of jealousy they showed were not anywhere near other drama land jelly tropes. She always seemed a bit detached while ML was overly loving, considerate and apologetic.
hold upā¦so FL keeps saying that ML is arrogant and wants ppl to do things his way, yet they have consistently showed him caring for her (protecting her from bully), silently supporting her (having her tutor him so he could give her money for lunch w/o it being awkward) and even trying to change things to fit in with her (little things like being able to eat spicy food). YET she is the one who suddenly dropped going to Germany and not wanting to get married on the same day. She also states that he wouldnāt like to her YET when he tries to tell her the guy friend is no good (and doesnāt straight up say that the guy friend said he was using friendship to get close to her)ā¦I get she has relationship trauma from her parents, but homegirl needs to be open about it with her bf (and friend) of over 4 years.
I hope Deng Wei gets more ML roles. I really hung in there for him. FL was great when she was kickass but for most of the drama we got the tame disciple version of her. That was so mid. The side characters were okay. The middle eps were sooo draggy and full of misunderstandings.
Deng Weiās cold balanced with his warmth was so great. His looks were wow. I have been waiting for him to get ML role. I hope I donāt have to wait long before the next big role.
ep 23/24 - although she doesnāt become her old badass self, just remembers everything and gains a bit of confidence
I mean, at one point it just felt like forever- it kind of dragged from ep 13ish to that point with misunderstandings all over the place š¬ also, just be prepared around ep 29 š«š
I'm liking this series now that i picked it back up but can someone pls explain to me wth was that first episode.…
the first ep is what people perceived to have happened (ppl being the other leaders and their followers and then what the story became for the general population). It shows how FL took the blame and made everyone think she was the baddie but then we unravel throughout the series what actually happened and learn how FL put a silencing curse on the two main ppl (ML and one of her other disciples) who could have told the truth of what actually happened.
Not saying you should give this show a second chance but...you do realize that the Japanese occupied and colonized…
I donāt think we should excuse ignorance anymore in the day of technology and instant information at our fingertips. Yes, you are right we should not be angry and instead kindly approach the situation as an opportunity to learn. I am sure ppl have realized the implied Korean-Japanese antagonism, especially if you are an avid drama watcher, but never bothered to look into it. I am American and I was never taught about it and looked it up thanks to dramas. We should all know about atrocities caused by so many countriesā government. One does not need to be obsessed with history or world news to be an informed individual so we can hopefully move to a more peaceful world where the trampled on minorities or ones with less power have no voice and have their pains whitewashed away or just completely buried under a rug. Letās understand other people and not just scroll endless socials like our governments hope we keep our head buried so we donāt see the mess around us.
THEY DONāT!! IMO they donāt. They run into each otherās arms at the very end. Still no discussion of what…
Yup. Anytime I dislike a character it is in no way directed at the actor (or else I would call them out by name). Ppl on MDL sometimes get offended that their faves are being dragged, but itās really not that. Itās just a weak script with a dragging plot with few legitimate conflicts outside of a companyās struggle, no proper arcs with structured rising and falling actions, and a climax that was poorly executed. The all is lost moment felt contrived and then a messy resolution. Forget the poor character development with characters that ended up being hard to even like by the end.
Iām glad I could talk out my annoyance with someone on the same boat. I know some ppl like this drama and itās good to know Iām not being picky or crazy. lol

yeah. Iām totally okay with no romance but when they try to work it in, especially when they made this story so dependent on it but left me feeling bad for the red flag dude because he was crazy over her (a little much and a little forceful) and she was ready to skip on him whenever things got a little difficult and werenāt going her way. Gawd. The more I think about it, the more Iām annoyed this was 40 whole eps long! š

she went to dentist for the wisdom tooth that she had the fever for couple of eps before. I think they needed her to let the swelling go down to do the surgery, but it was so rando. I just stopped caring. Also, SFL suddenly falls for SML just because he was actually the one that saved her and not Gao Yi. Just so much nonsensical development. 2x + ffwd wasnāt enough for me. If itās not going to be romance loaded, thatās fine, but make things move along and have more arcs beyond the company business and legit character development. š¤¦š»āāļø
