Woah. I’m surprised at the depth of story and layers to the FL character for a short drama. The acting was also not over the top. The chemistry was on point! The kisses…just. Wow! It was a nice quick watch.

I have never struggled so much in rating a drama 😂 😝 I am still laughing at Folk A and Passerby B. Such a nice touch. Every character in a drama is important message was just adorbs. The “I’m going to beat him up” to being turned away to walk off and the guys going “is it so easy to make a married man happy?” 🤣 And the whole make dude pregnant bit with Yiting. Seriously, the last ep or two were peak comedy in this show.

Per Oxford Languages, prejudice is defined as “opinion not based on reason or actual experience.” Please stop throwing that word in every comment. This person watched 20 eps and then formed her/his opinion that the FL’s behavior was frustrating her. It frustrated me too and that’s okay. By the end of the drama, my opinion of her slightly changed. As a character develops, the audience’s feelings towards them also develops.

We went from all of that to about ep 32ish and it just became great. OTP was cute together. Out green forest of a ML was finally getting some trust and love he so very much deserved. Then we got phenomenal ending eps. Absolutely well done satire. Picked at all the right cliches yet kept some semblance of the story that was within the story…that was technically within another story 😂 🤣 I couldn’t imagine a better ending. No magical teleportation. Just very Inception-ish.

You know all those dramas where it starts out great and gets shakey in the middle and is just sloppy or unhinged or boring at the end? Well, this drama was different in many ways and one of them is that it started out super promising and then became incredibly frustrating as we watched FL go ep after ep in tunnel vision that ML is the bad guy (what kind of script was she reading that the ML is the villain??) and she could not see all the signs of how amazing ML was even though she fell in love with his other identity (how can one not pick Liu Yuning out of a crowd?? okay for drama’s sake, I’ll suspend my disbelief.) I digress.

Oop. how is SML Matrix glitching??!? 🫢

…the two ppl who love him the most are put in danger seemingly because of him. Jixiang was such a loyal bodyguard and his death hurt me. Nan Rui 😭 and then his dad poisoned. AND all of this is done by SML! Nan Rui trusted him so much even though Jixiang and Nan Heng warned him, which he acknowledges. ugh. Poor dude!

omg!!!! nuuuuu!! so much happened on ep 36!! I really like Nan Rui. Sure, he is spoiled and makes some trouble but he doesn’t want to actually hurt anyone. He is like a giant child and he doubts himself and knows he isn’t as good as Nan Heng. Yet he tries his best to keep injustice from happening, he is loyal to a fault and ultimately does what he knows is right. My heart broke for him when…

I can’t feel that much sympathy for him when he continues his craze even after he learns the truth and then his dad is back in pic and he is still being crazy. He was too far gone and I get his spiral, but in contrast, ML had it so much worse growing up tortured in the cold palace and constant walking on eggshells around his father/king all while trying to protect his mother and his nightwalkers and being good to the general public. SML is missing a few nuts, but that’s what makes a dramatic drama 😂

it seemed like she only schemed main parts of the script so maybe she didn’t catch the underlying reasons for ML’s actions which they then highlight in the drama that there’s always more to the pic and you can’t just an event for what it is but you really have to look at the person’s character. FL was sold on ML being mean spirited and the dmeon king just like the rest of the public, but she finally wakes up to and comes to terms with ML’s actual good nature

idk if your questions are rhetorical but I’ll answer them with my genuine and sincere thoughts. I didn’t start this with prejudice and most audience are in the same boat. Even if we came off of a high of POB, we wanted to continue that same joy. A lot of people were hyped for this. I was not only excited to see LYN but the trailers made this look hilarious and OTP seemed amazing together. I also think FL is super cute and funny. She actually played her role well enough. Unfortunately, the story dragged in the land of push push from FL while the ML followed like a sad puppy. While there are plenty of dramas that’s do that, this drama had it go on for 30 eps and ML was often injured and almost killed - not just shut down and emotionally wounded. It’s upsetting to watch that from an OTP we were really excited about. Yes, some ppl then brought up POB in comparison because they felt it delivered OTP magic. I don’t see anything wrong with sharing that opinion.

As for discouraging others, I don’t see it that way IMHO. The commentary section is not only for glowing reviews and opinions for a drama. I come to engage with other drama viewers. Sometimes to share in the giddy feels over an amazing story or cast. Sometimes to get different perspectives and understanding of scenes or character motives. Sometimes to know that I’m not alone in my frustration over character or plot development, especially given that I must see a drama through to the end so it helps to have company in my struggles 😂 It’s rarely that I absolutely dislike the drama, but it might be parts that are annoying me, like in this case.

Someome directly asked if they should continue and I never dissuaded them and just noted they might need to 2x some scenes as they also expressed frustration over FL misunderstanding and being stubborn to her initial reaction from reading a handful of scenes in a script. None of this is coming from a bias or prejudice towards FL (and note clearly we are talking about FL = character and NOT the actress herself). I definitely never started this drama going, no FL can match ML as well as in POB. That doesn’t make sense as they are two different characters in two different dramas. IDK if you saw some comment suggesting Song Zu Er matches better with LYN than Li Yi Tong, because I have not seen any such comments. Such a comment doesn’t necessary make sense either because a lot of the chemistry is based on the plot and romantic scenes providing them opportunity to build that ship. If you have seen such commentary, I can understand why you are bothered, but again, I have not seen such comments and only saw comments as I previously discussed.

Yeah, you will definitely miss plot points so it’s best to 1.5x the parts she is creating trouble or grumbling without trying to fix things on her own or misunderstanding ML. 😝
