Lol. The story about PMY's dating scandal was pulled down last year. And here it is again, masquerading as "news" with some new gossip sprinkled in.

The problem with publishing articles like this on MDL is that there is no line. Once you start letting stuff like this stay posted, you might as well let everything else in. It's hard enough as it is keeping the malicious comments and reactions to gossip away from movie/drama comment sections. Once you open this door, even a little, this place will become just another gossip site with vitriol and trolls and heaven knows what else.

Anyone who badly wants to engage with this kind of content knows where to find it.

Finally got around to watching this and I don't feel strongly about anything -- the storyline, the characters, etc. Couldn't even dredge up enough dislike for the "villains". They ticked off all the romance drama tropes including a redemption arc for the "bad guys".

If I had to pick a favourite character, it'd be Kim Min Ki as the annoying younger brother. He fit the role to a T. Shows he has range - from silly here to stoic in Queen's Umbrella and Racket Boys. Looking forward to his future roles.

The irony is thick. Sadly when actresses who don't fit said beauty standards are cast to play such characters (no matter how good their acting is), they get a lot of vitriol and the drama suffers ie less viewership.

CCY falling in love with a supposed married person is not wrong. No lines were crossed and no one would have known his feelings for sure if he didn't confess to deflect criticism from her to himself. "Adulterer" when nothing happened is just overkill but people need their scandals to be all up in arms about.

Want to smack every one of the mums who returned to the banchan shop. Bloody sheep. And that director too. As if he wasn't hoping for CCY's resignation. Do I sense a redemption arc for Soo Ah?

Nam Haeng Seon is such a solid character. I love her so much. She's had to be a parent to two people, barely having any time for herself or her needs. And still looks at the world through such kind eyes. I'm glad that the directors choose an actress who looks like the life the character has had and styled her accordingly, rather than cast someone conventionally pretty and young and try to age and "uglify" her. And then give us that one makeover scene where a new dress and a visit to the makeup studio have her looking like a model. Every time Nam Haeng Seon smiles, she shines.

I'm confident Hae Yi's current friends are going to band around her and protect her. They've already shown they're loyal.

Character consistency is a big deal for me and the writers of this drama continue to deliver. Even the supporting roles are on point.

Chiyeol was trying to call the teacher because he thought the teacher told the moms about the tutoring.
Okay. That makes sense.

Yes it's bad scriptwriting. Anyone with as much money and influence as chi yeol would have sued the evil mum immediately.…
Hard disagree about bad scriptwriting. Like his assistant said, Soo Ah's mum did not mention any names in her post so there's no legal grounds for a lawsuit. He confessed because they were making Hae Yi's mum out to be a "gold digger" and she was present. Confessing that he was the one with the crush was the only way to redirect their vitriol to him and not her. Plus, he'd only just come to terms with his feelings a few days before.

I believe the writers set it up this way so there's some added tension going into the next episode.

Aside from what you mentioned, anything else that's nonsense in today's episode?

Small nod to the teacher's murder in this ep, when CCY mentions Yi Sang is not picking his calls. Not sure why he was trying to reach him. Guess the murder will be addressed properly next ep.

Pretty sure the writers have something "good" prepared for Soo Ah's mum. She deserves to be wiped on the floor like a mop. The rest of the mums are just bloody sheep.

Also, there is no love triangle. I think Geon Hoo clings to Hae Yi because it riles Seon Jae up. He hasn't really done anything to show he likes Hae Yi. He treats her like a friend more than a crush.

I don't think I said it was. I come from a tribe that still practices the payment of bride price (although I disagree with the practice on personal principle) and the haggling over the marriage list can get fierce so I'm not even in a position to judge anyone else's marriage customs.

It was before, earlier in the day.

I don't think it's the whole dowry. Did a little reading and there's something called a "gold engagement" so I'm guessing that's what the necklace is for.

I doubt the dowry will be a massive sum (especially when you look at it through dollar lenses) but given their economic means, it'll be hard for them to pay.

He used the money meant for renewing his car insurance to get the dowry. Which made him going to look at the papers (like he didn't know they were expired 😢) when Wen asked about insurance really sad. And then checking his wallet even though he knew he didn't have up to 3000 baht in there. That shit was subtly played.

Watched the drama because of this comment. Was worth every minute.
I know right? I have to be pretty feeble-minded to outsource something as life-altering as *gasp* choice of entertainment to someone I don't know. Thanks for the offer. Nice to have more strangers to be influenced by,

The characters have money problems and it's tied to their motivations and to the plot of the story. Unsure how else they should handle it. Also, poor/struggling people stay worrying about money all the damn time. It's reality.

This was what I thought - impatient teenager dealing with the frustration that comes from his impairment. Plus his parents hiding him away means he doesn't get to interact much with outsiders. With time, he could have just stopped talking.

I'm not sure why you felt a need to make this distinction. Unless you live in my mind and know something I don't. In which case go right ahead.

But what I said is exactly what it was - I watched the show because of OP.

He definitely came to eat. Just not food.

That walk to the car from the restaurant is some of the most beautiful filming I've seen in a BL.

I really really love this drama, but making everyone obsessed with a teacher is making it very odd to me, even…
The writers are simply staying true to reality. There are superstar teachers like CCY in Korea who are celebs to parents and students. Maybe some of the characters are exaggerated for effect, but it feeds off what obtains in real situations.

I don't think it has anything to do with elevating him. CCY said in an earlier episode that value is not just determined by wealth, plus he also has humble beginnings. He's a bit annoying but he's not hung up on social class.

But we're all allowed our own interpretations.

The FL matching the ML beat for beat is why I keep watching this drama. She's gotten good. Just wish more people could look beyond their previously formed opinions of her and pay attention to her acting in this drama.

Your comment had me cry-laughing. "Multi-tasking their outrage" is right on point.
