Disappointed in the finale...wow. Yes it gave me 'a happy ending' but key factors of the main plot content were barely addressed, didn't address the healing that was required for both main and support sides that were all traumatized in some fashion and it just felt everything was skimmed over to get this finished, we never saw any situations they had to endure in their reconnection or how truly their life progressed, it was just a faint narrative with useless flashbacks taking up valuable finale screen time....wth? I don't even think a few more eps woulda helped this wrap up satisfactory. It really fizzled 1/2 way thru ep 6 for me, it snowballed downhill fast. I connected up to about ep 4 or 5 and felt my interest in any of the characters fade out...yup---when did the light fade for me, around ep 5 lol. Instantly forgettable for me on this one.
Agree, that business side if cropped down a bit could have left a bit more for exploring their co-dependent relationship,…
Exactly, this is a co-dependent obsession that works for each of them vs all the toxic psycho series that have been airing....what a great angle to explore the dynamics of them as a couple, wish we had more depth of each of their thoughts on how the relationship was built. It still fascinates me since it is written with a positive angle instead of the dreaded psycho trauma drama.
Episode 8:Takaaki is never more at peace than when given orders by Naoya.I love the look that comes over his face…
Agree, that business side if cropped down a bit could have left a bit more for exploring their co-dependent relationship, which I found fascinating. Thought the exact same but I was still fine with his hair lol (be wild if he gets a new cut at the end of the special episode tho!)
I feel like this series deserves a higher rating. The plot wasn’t predictable, there was solid character development,…
Agree and it was all shrouded with calm vs. the hardcore physical and mental abuse we see most times with darker obsessive co-dependent relationships. I found that thrilling to have that content in a simpler format and still achieve total satisfaction from this storyline.
I loved it also....so many bad comments and worst are those ones attacking the appearance of the actors! ugh I also can't wait til special ep next week!!
Finale and loved this series. The calm, the underlying loyalty, the satisfaction of just giving it all to your partner without the need for outsider intervention to tear them apart was my focus in this story. The mains had my total attention! It was a refreshing twist against the normal overly taxing dark trauma dramas. The support characters only hurt themselves when they went on the offensive against the 2 main leads and they deserved all they brought on themselves. The obsessive co-dependent extremely intimate bond with them was theirs alone!!! No outsider warped their interwoven personal bond between them. The leads were the good guys lol, neither was abusive to the other, it was wonderful to watch a darker bond that each worked to help the other vs. the usual abusive and controlling of another partner thru these dynamics. A dark obsession worked to the mains advantage, not against them...nice spin on this content! I vibed straight into their relationship and can't wait for the next special episode. I think many thought this was like watching paint dry against all the high tension/revenge/fanatical partner abuse series that have aired recently...but for me I found more depth in this silent obsession more thrilling. Both mains acting was awesome, and Yuma bro was cool too, glad that bit of family held to Naoya! Re-watch value for me!
Ep 4 was ok. This JBL is just so diff than the Thai version, which was packed with so much filler I sometimes had a hard time finding the main couple's story in it lol but with this one, their relationship is building right in front and foremost. Such diff styles makes a remakes either great or not but this one is holding its' own with me still. It's very low on energy tho...I need a bit more action and what worries me is in that next ep sneak peek....what kinda kiss scene are we gonna get? Something tells me I am not going to be happy haha, we'll see :) (Interesting reading comments of those who've read the novel and the comparison in the adaption on characters.)
Nice vert and Yu character is sweet and Koichi is solid strong so I connect with the mains but the storyline is dull for me. I like verts and they are usually fast, furious, unhinged, highly comical sometimes and over the top, but this one just drifts so easily along......and that's ok, I did like it....but little past the middle this fizzled. The back half dragged out which surprised me in a vert, they go fast, this one was like time stopped for me and couldn't wait for it to finally finish out....final towards end was cute as hell tho.
Re-watch cause it didn't look familiar but first minute I remembered it. Gennosuke...yea right? :) His smile is addictive and other lead also did fine job. Good vert! But a little more than the dead kiss zone would have been nice. Flowed well, entertaining and wish there was more with the sexy cause with 2 mains like that, come on guys, give us a bit more!!
I've been out and about trying also to find how to view it....not finding any options as of yet. Read the manga, would love to see this adapted to live. Gennosuke been acting, just watching him in that new JBL too lol What a nice smile!! It will show all of the sudden I am hoping :) Always got an eye out
@Cheyenne Brown Agree slightly with you, in that it isn't qb to the f'ing max for me, but if the cover is just the 2 guys, and the entire story is about 3 people in lead? then the cover is purposely leaning toward an intentional misunderstanding I think also. 4 hands, 2 sonatas and 2 guys on cover shot? Instantly think bl romance vs. bromance involving a third lead character so....agree with you cause when I watched the trailer on Netflix it is only the 2 guys with intense emotional scenes for promo, so again....I am in your lane too on this one ---saw the cover photo on Netflix and clicked it and went to tags and instantly saw it was bromance so? but I clicked it thinking bl series maybe so yea, I felt that draw to a genre I was wanting to watch.
Re-watch again...waiting for Grim Lover...November is still far off so needed a dose of Pooh and Pavel and of course with Pit Babe we get great side couples/cast also! Ya know Nut is so good in The Most Beautiful Count lol....feels a world away from Way in this series, such a good, versatile actor! Can't say enough about how good the actors are in this series is -- Pit Babe forever :)!
