IMO this amnesia arc was much needed for RanRan to see that SYS loves her for her and not because she is MQG’s reincarnation/ not a substitute for MQG. Although RR is the reincarnation of MQG, she is still her own person with her own memories and experiences. When reading the novel I also wondered if he loved RR because of MQG or did he also fall for RR herself. And this amnesia arc will answer that. Also it’s quite cute and not like others 😂

Also Shifu has living in regret and self guilt for so long because of what happened with MQG. Amnesia SYS doesn’t have that so it’s kind of like a clean slate

RR is MQG reincarnation but she is still her own person with her own life and memories. I’d say more they the soul but otherwise they’re not the same person. I think RR also mentions something similar when the disciple friends were asking how they should address her. She said she’s still young she’s still XRR.

one of the reasons why I like this amnesia arc is because while reading the novel, I had some doubts whether sys really loved RR for herself or was it because she was MQG’s reincarnation. So this amnesia arc, his memory is at when he hated MQG, we’ll get to see how he truly feels with 0 memories and once again confirm their two way love for each other.

Not really…he wants her to become stronger yes but he doesn’t want her to be like her past life, with the burden of saving everyone. He wanted her to have a carefree life this time. Which is why he tends to spoil her and lets her do what she wants. Because the past MQG didn’t have an easy life.

It’s only on iqiyi Chinese app for now. They re-edited ep 1-8, also moved episode 3-6 to the front and episodes 1-2 back. I guess because people were getting confused with the storyline the way it was set up. Although I really like the way they did it originally.

SYS amnesia arc is the only time I look forward to that trope 😂 usually I hate it. FL is reincarnated so it makes sense if she doesn’t have the memories of her previous life so that didn’t bother me. Tomorrow hopefully back to sweet scenes with our leads 😍
