LGJ is so powerful in this drama. it looked like its based on true story of Goryeo's King Gwangjong.
Since it's based on the original Chinese version, which was based on Chinese history, it was interesting to see how they adapted it to fit Korean history. They even managed to keep the prince's birth order, so that 4th prince is the lead in both.
I agree. She’s a loving, caring, reasonable princess. Wanting to save someone’s life, even if that person…
Do you mean how she revenged getting poisoned to death by giving him a rash - and then sending him the medicine to cure that rash? To me that seemed pretty mild. I many dramas FL stabs the ML for a misunderstanding :D
Just finished. I liked this very much. After watching 200 dramas I get easily bored, but this one managed to keep my interest until the and. Good pacing. Loved both leads, I don't know why the FL gets so much hate. I also read some chapters of the original novel and it seems like this is quite faithful adaption, which is always nice.
7 eps in. After reading the comments I went in expecting a childish, frustrating FL. To me surprise, I was met with a super calm, logical, reasonable, smart woman, who's only possibly fault is being too forgiving.
Does it have any chance to have season 2? I heard somewhere chinese dramas don't get multiple seasons. But it…
You heard right. Asian dramas are usually made to so that the ending is an actual ending, not a cliffhanger to another season like in western tv-series. That is one of the reasons I love them :) But there are exceptions, sometimes a Chinese drama is split in two seasons or there is another season, which tells another story about the same characters.
I have seen the original Scarlet Heart (Chinese) and somehow can't get myself to try this one. Can someone who has seen both version tell be is there something that is so much better in this version that it would be worth watching also this? Does this give much more in some area?
I'm on the second episode and so confused. Who is which prince? What logic or reasoning does the FL have to justify…
- The one who looks the youngest (at least in my opinion) is the oldest, then the crown prince, then the third prince. I agree that it was confusing at first. Other princes are still young and not shown. - FL saw crown princes logo thing when her family was murdered - ML is the crown prince because he is the only child of the late empress, who was also the emperor's childhood sweetheart and the emperor decides who is the CP. The other princes are children from the concubines. - The third prince is the child of the consort Shu, the evil woman who is now the emperor's favorite as the empress is dead. - I don't think FL was talking to her father. You are probably confusing something. Maybe she was talking to the emperor and calling him father because he is her father-in-law? Or then she was talking to doctor Liu, her old family friend? - I think this drama pretty much made sense, as far as dramas usually do.
The director told her to stand and stare at him wide eyed for a full minute while he worked on her lips? Must…
Yes it does seem weird for me too, when I think about it from my own perpective. But my point is to back the original commenter, that it’s not the actresses fault or even the director’s fault. The person to blame or better yet to ask about this should be the writer of the original novel. Maybe she could explain why the character reacted like this.
The director told her to stand and stare at him wide eyed for a full minute while he worked on her lips? Must…
Yes, in this case it's definitely the way she was supposed to act, knowing the character and how the scene was written in the original novel. She's supposed to be frozen, puzzled, a little hesitant, raised to not show any enthusiasm as it would be shameful for a girl etc.
Did you watch it until the end? Now you probably feel differently about how they separated? If you read the novel…
Hi! There is a good quality fan made translation online. It’s on site called Fanatical, the translators are called Peanuts and Lidge. You can find it by googling. The adaptation is mostly very faithful. They added a lot of stuff to the drama but the important scenes are almost word to word so in the novel you can read what the characters were thinking and it helps understand them.
This was how she was written in the original novel and an important part of the story. When she came back from…
Hi! She does become gradually happier and brighter, and in the end she will be very happy, but she never becomes as bold and carefree as when she was young - of course that's the way it goes for most of us in the real life too. But I understand your urge to skip, there is still maybe a couple of eps about the past until the main plot starts really moving.
A nice, short, well-paced drama for a rainy day. It's low budget and not always realistic, but if you go in with moderate expectations you might enjoy it as much as I did.
sorry want to ask so the story is in a novel or reality?
In China the censorship unfortunately requires this :( Just try to skip the parts were someone is writing a novel and imagine they don't exist, and then watch the drama as it was intended.
The whole premise of this show was that the FL was the ML's sunshine...and in the beginning when they were in…
This was how she was written in the original novel and an important part of the story. When she came back from the US she felt like there was nothing left of the person she used to be.
I'm so irritated and agitated by the ML (Yi Chen) since from the drama's beginning while they were at the university.…
"It's not her fault at all while they was at the university that he just called off their relationship. All was only his pride was been 'sort of warned' by her father. " This is not what that was about. Maybe they did not make it clear enough in the drama, I have also read the novel so I don't remember exact details of how it was told in which version. But the problem Yi Chen had with Mo Sheng's father was that her father caused the death of Yi Chen's parents and for him to become orphan. It was part of the same events that made Mo Sheng's father send her daughter away and commit suicide. Yi Chen of course hated most in the world the person who was responsible for his parent's deaths, and wished he had never met and fell in love with that person's daughter. But in the end he loved Mo Sheng more than he hated her father.
