Yep I also question her ‘feelings’ for Li Mao. I think he was more like a comfort zone. It was very clear early on that her feelings for Wuyi were growing little by little - it started with admiration and then caring and worrying. But given how young and inexperienced she is - she was confused for the longest time- even though she called it ‘friendship’ it was very clear that it was way more than that

That is why MJ had to take an aggressive, somewhat manipulative approach which included using her ex to get him back. You could look at it that way but all her behavior says otherwise so far . As for your challenge - if I agreed to marry someone I would go through with it rather than flip flopping . She could not even follow through with it. Then what? She agrees to marry him when he declares he has one year to live? Tell me how great that logic is. I am not defending an inanimate object who can’t even keep a promise or follow through with something it wanted . He had even backed off BUT SHE WANTED TO MARRY HIM . it was clear he knew what he was getting into from the beginning. In spite of that she did not follow through - that was what bothered me I am against patriarchy and am all for female empowerment but this goes down to human behavior . And to support this kind of behavior is not feminism.
