I really want to slap the FL’s face . They have dragged this engagement and wedding farce for too many episodes now. What is so special about her? I guess only the CP knows at this point😂😂😂. She has no sense of honesty, loyalty, empathy nothing . Just a self serving sniveling woman. It’s like there is no happiness in her. She is a void who only uses people . And that self righteousness of hers is killing me

Well Zhang Bin still wanted to exploit him and he also wanted to bend Chen Yi and bring him to his side. Because he respected Chen Yi’s intelligence. And Chen Yi let him exploit him so he could gather information- yes ZB did not trust him fully but he could still use him . It was a strange love hate relationship if you think about it because Chen Yi also saved Zhang Bin’s life . ZB felt like he owed him for that

Look I did not find the FL’s action wrong and I do not have an issue with her having two exes. The ML is also grey not just the FL. They were both cruel to each other at some point but they are also each other’s only family. Chen Yi had truly given up on living after everything that happened to him. He thought he did not deserve anything. He was living a very low life when he was capable of doing better- and that is what bothered Miao Jing- she was not ready to live that life to him. I am being very analytical here. You seem to be stuck with the FL not being to your liking. But I liked Miao Jing’s character.- and yes she had different shades to her - so what . Why would she be so strait laced given everything she went through? And if you have a problem with my opinion so be it. I think I have explained my points in multiple ways. But if you still do not get it - I really am out of words here . I sympathize and empathize with MJ too as I do with Chen Yi- I see both their sides . Please take your frustrations elsewhere- I am done. I find perfection in the flawed FL .

From what I understand he was with Zhang Bin for the police. He was helping them to get Zhang Bin as an informant. He wanted to help Zhou partly out of guilt. But I think Zhou made a deal with him after he got him out from Jin country . So he was helping the cops by passing on all the information and to find solid evidence

She has been harping about calling off the engagement forever. She could have done it when her dad came to visit. Where did her mouth go then🙄- such an insufferable character. She has no guts to do it herself and wants the CP to do the deed. He should just let her fend for herself.

One last word on Zhou- I really felt for him in the last episode. It was a much needed closure for him after 6 long years

What a fantastic story! Really loved the leads and I am awed by Song Wei Long’s versitality . And Jing Yi just surprises me with her depth in every single role of hers - she again delivered a beautiful nuanced portrayal. Ththeir chemistry was off the roof.
This drama was about strength, integrity and survival. Given their disturbed childhoods and Chen Yi ‘s dark past they both were so strong and overcame all their struggles by sticking together . When Chen Yi destroyed Miao Jing’s only home and pushed her away he also destroyed his only light in the darkness (and lost the semblance of home and family as well) after that when he was trafficked and was saved he almost lost his will to live as well. He was always thinking about others - about MJ’s happiness and never did anything for himself- he thought he did not deserve that t.
MJ had to show him that he also deserved to live. It was a long road to recovery and reconciliation but MJ achieved it in the end. Their strength was that their bond was very strong and they always stood by each other and had only each other.
In the last episode - they are both still healing especially Chen Yi. So for those of you complaining about marriage - it will take time . I am just happy that they got out of hell and are making a life together. They definitely have committed to each other and that is more than what you can ask for given how damaged both are.
. This story was so sad, deep and poignant and beautiful in its own way. Amazing performances and the OST was really good . This will be a 10/10 for me - such dramas are rare gems. This one will be unforgettable to me and will go on my watchlist.
And I am going to look forward to every single drama of Song Wei Long from now on. I was waiting for him to rise and he is finally here !! This man oozes talent!
I also watched this for the directors from L&P- another drama I am a huge fan of and they did not disappoint .theor story telling was amazing

Chen Yi care d about everyone around him but not about himself. It was so sad to watch - he was barely surviving and he did not think he deserved a better life. But he at least retained his integrity and had a moral compass. That was his strength and it saved him.

lol . I don’t know who picks up character behaviors. But I don’t think there was double standards from the FL. Yes I defended the FL and I stand by it. Because she was doing two things- looking out for herself and forcing Chen Yi to decide on what he wanted- a better life with her or survive like a low life in that dump. So I don’t think she did anything wrong

There is no logic to her character .its not about what everyone says. It is about what I see on the screen

Yes I am literally watching the show for the ML and Jeremy’s character because I find them intriguing . Even I was wondering if a mere commandery princess had this kind of power 🙄- some logic there. And she is marrying the CP with an agenda to just use him and also because he is weak, has declared that she does not love him, but she wants to know everything about him. Heaven forbid that he has a few secrets of his own - what sacrilege? She reeks with hypocrisy, self righteousness and double standards

No one is perfect . Let’s leave it at that . We all expect so much perfection from drama characters but in reality everyone is flawed . No one is hiding behind any words here.if you want unicorns rainbows and roses with overly good people you should go watch a cloying Lu sweet romance where the characters have no depth to them and everything goes smoothly from beginning to end. It I love dramas like Love For You where the explore the different shaders of human characters. There is nothing to be judgemental about here
