Not justifying what Lian said as there is no excuse especially with the lame reason he gave in the show. He actually said it in anger after finding out that Kuea was lying to him. He never stopped loving him. I also don't approve of him manipulating him into moving in with him.
To be fair what he is doing is approved by Kuea's parents so he is not the only one who is keeping him in the dark, so in this case can't just blame him .
Everyone places all this blame on Lian but Kuea isn't innocent either since he is lying to Lian and his parents about who he really is and trying to manipulate them into believing he is someone he is not.
Yes they need to have way better communication and we have seen strides in the latest episode, if their relationship was perfect we wouldn't have a show 😊.

As @aprilnwright said it isnt only Lian keeping this from him it's his parents too, none of them have chosen to tell him. While they do it because they don't want him to worry, they should still have told him.

Dialogue was kind of stupid because apparently the novel he actually acknowledges that he said it out of anger and he apologizes for that and says he won't do it again. Set it in the show was really lame and I love the show lol
