As @aprilnwright said it isnt only Lian keeping this from him it's his parents too, none of them have chosen to tell him. While they do it because they don't want him to worry, they should still have told him.

Also when he eventually finds out which we know he will, it makes him feel like awful person. He has been living his life in ignorance and worry free while everyone else was dealing with the stresses.

They weren't given to Lian as wedding gifts he has been legitimately buying then from the Kuraati family. Has wracked quite a bit of debt himself in doing so.

I don't think it addresses it to much In the show but the reason they were ok with it because of the grandfather had a male partner. Also Lian's family was very close to Kuea's family. I it's an interesting twist to be honest. I don't think it happens as much now but there was a practice in some Asian countries for families to kidnap a young female or male child from another family and then raise them together with the intention that they would marry eventually.

There's been several times where he said force doesn't work on Kuea so that's why he does things in a roundabout way. In the game never have I ever when Yi forces Kuea to admit he had a Ducati Lian was angry that Yi forced Kuea to make a confession he obviously wasn't ready to make. You know we will just have to agree to disagree on Lian's motivations 🙂.

No Nuea is only used as a plot device to make Lian jealous, which they really didn't show here and gave him a much bigger role.

I think the only problem with not having the talk is obviously when you're reading about it it's quite romanticized and it doesn't talk about the nitty gritty of having sex so I had romanticized it a lot and then when I actually did it I guess it was very different from what I had expected lol

I guess I view it more through the Dom/Sub lens. I have roped my partner into watching it and he is a Dom and we even discussed it as if that's what the relationship is Dom/Sub .
