The fact that she was perfectly healthy if she suddenly died then that would raise suspicions and an autopsy might have to be performed so yeah I mean I guess he could have said that she took her own life through poison... I think that although they thought it out to ruin her reputation I think actually killing her wasn't very well thought out and was done in a moment of panic especially because the drug didn't work effectively she woke up and then he could hit her
