I really wish they would stop calling what JS did to her sister 30 years ago a mistake. She made a choice. A choice…
Well, she did "make a mistake" by making the wrong choice to lie to her sister. But the bottom line is that she lied to her all these years. How can JA forgive her?
Only thing messing was a slap or two.I was glad she let it out to her face that that whole mess was her fault.…
I know the CEO is hesitant to lose an experienced producer, but if this truly does blow up in their face and the investors pull the funding, he HAS to fire her. I don't know how he could justify keeping her on staff? Maybe that's the kick in the teeth she needs to take stock of her life and see things for what they are (EH-wise)?
I hope the ex is just a red herring or if they find out she died she actually did and not show up and ruin the…
That's an interesting take on SJ. I really don't like her character. She's a lazy, immature fan-girl who spends all day in her room, and who makes snap-judgements about people without bothering to think first. She acts on whims without thinking of the consequences of her actions or how they may be impact others. I HATE the thought of her with MG. I've said it too many times here - I'm waiting for MG and EA to realize they have a future together with GR. Short of the boy's real mom (whom we know zilch about) she's the only one he's bonded with and she would be the mature, stable wife that clown desperately needs.
Everyone is quiet today. I thought today's episode was good. Seems like they may move things faster than I expected…
I just watched it with dinner. This WAS a good episode!
1. Of COURSE the fryer is broken when ES brings SW to dine with her parents. And what a thoughtful thing for her to do to cheer him up. I wonder why she didn't think of taking him home to eat with them? 2. I LOVED when ES ripped HY a new one in the office for setting up SW for this fail. Shades of Dong-Mi from Bravo My Life! 3. I've never seen Kim Bo Mi (MG's mom) angry before. YIKES! She was on-point with her anger and disappointment with her son. 4. GaRam is 6 years old. What have they told him about his mom??? Surely he must have asked by now? Does he think she's dead? I don't think this is a red herring - they wouldn't have shown us her face. She is coming....for what ends? Who knows at this point. 5. As Sher noted below, Sang Ji's English is very good! Even her use of "yeah". 6. EH is killing me with his "carrying the torch" for HY. WILL YOU PLEASE CONFESS TO HER AND LET THE CHIPS FALL WHERE THEY MAY???? I know, the script won't allow for it, and there will have to be some traumatic event for her to realize all that he's done for her, but still, GEEZ.
Gosh, I loved this show. Too bad it's been so long since it aired, I guess the chances for a season 2 are gone, which is sad, since the webtoon goes on well past their marriage into their family life.
This was so well-cast, and everyone was on-point: from the production team to the actors and the background music. I can't really find fault with any of it, and I fell in love with both of them and their supporting cast. The beauty of this show was that it was able to develop the supporting cast and make their roles believable while not taking away precious time from the leads. I even bought the DVD as the re-watchability of this is 10/10.
I'm sorry I missed it live, would have been fun to watch the reviews here on MDL as it happened.
I told Sher last week that the actor drove me crazy with the way he talked. I get he slowed down because of non-native…
You're right, it should be his full legal name. For the life of me, I can't find that episode where ES was looking at the cover page of the court finding.
Random thoughts (have not seen today's ep): 1. I'm not sure who this "Ed Williams" actor is, but his manner of speaking is really awkward. Is he deliberately trying to over-enunciate? His cadence is all wrong. Or maybe English is his second language? 2. In a recent flashback (I can't find it now) ES sees the court documents showing the final verdict for Acquittal for SW. I didn't notice before, but it was from THE SUPREME COURT OF THE US. That must have been one heckuva libel case to make it all the way up to the SCOTUS, LOL.
After watching today’s episode I need to go back and rewatch some earlier episodes. When you write yourself…
Although unlikely, they could have her wind up being alone, as fitting punishment for her deeds, if they really turn her into a bad person. I just can't see them going that far, but it's an option I guess. When even your own father says you have a nasty personality, that speaks volumes.
You know, when the show moves along, as did Ep51, it's pretty good (wait a minute, didn't we say that about AOME???)
Anyhow, if they keep up the pace by de-cluttering all these background secrets, maybe they can get the show back on track (Hmmm, I think we said THAT about AOME too???)
This wasn't a bad ep, and the twist with the 2 moms is really interesting, although it really was the chicken fryer's fault. But at the end, my heart just goes out to EH, man they are gonna do him dirty.
One last thing for the ladies here: My fashion sense couldn't fill a thimble, but it seemed that HY's clothing for her lunch date with JA was like something you'd wear to a funeral? Am I mistaken, or was she dressed appropriately?
Now you see that jackass CEO could also put an end to this BS!! SW has told him that him and ES are dating and…
I understand that he is hesitant to get involved in his employee's personal affairs, BUT if SW or ES complains, he has no choice but to terminate her - he's already given her a warning by reducing her pay. I don't think he has the option now to transfer her to another team's project. He kinda blew it there - in the real world, the HR Director would be having a fit. But, this is how it works here in the US, maybe different rules in SK?
I don’t know that any parent would recognize a child that they haven’t seen in 30 years - he was 5 years old…
They are really setting him up for some major troubles. Maybe that is when HY offers him solace and the tables turn for them? I have a theory on the DNA test: I think the events leading up to it would be the key, not the test itself, but then I've been batting .000 on my theories with this show and AOME.
Just finished Ep 50. While not a bad episode in its own right, it leaves me feeling troubled for the direction…
I think that what bothers me the most, and I did a poor job of explaining it, is that this storyline is such an OBVIOUS dead-end. We know that SW will tell his mom about his feelings for ES, not HY, and that will be that. If we didn't know that, then fine, let it play out. But since we do, why are we bothering with burning up all this airtime with this pointless arc? Do they need filler already? The only point to it that I can see is that this stops HY in her tracks and she sees the light.
Otherwise, I dunno....poor/undisciplined writing (again)?
Oh, and BTW, when SW failed to tell HY, clearly to back off, leave ES alone, etc, I got a flashback. Remember the scene in Apple of My Eye, where the ML told the SFL he wasn't interested in her, but then spent the next evening making foodfor her (in her home, no less) when she was 'sick'. We berated the writers then for the mixed-messages the ML was sending and it's deja-vu again for me with SW's behavior.
Just finished Ep 50. While not a bad episode in its own right, it leaves me feeling troubled for the direction this series is going (I know, I'm late to the party on that one).
The HY storyline makes zero sense to me at this point. All of her skullduggery (and airtime devoted to this) to try to make inroads with his mother will be for naught the minute JA talks to her son, and he tells her FORGET IT. The ONLY thing I can think of, is the followup scene where JA tells HY to leave her son alone, and that they shouldn't meet anymore is the cold dose of reality HY needs to come to her senses, and see that the long-suffering EH is the man for her. But I'm running out of patience if this doesn't happen in by the time we get to ep 60, the half-way point. Otherwise, we're befalling the same fate as AOME and TRHC where the SFL becomes the de-facto FL simply because the storylines all revolve around her.
In the hype leading up to this series, please correct me: Weren't we told this show would be a comedic, light-hearted series about warring in-laws, and there would be no angst or drama? WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT?
JA’s husband knows and has seen EA but did not tell his wife? I don’t think I would be happy that he held…
He wants to do a DNA test on them (interesting how they will manage THAT) to confirm. The fact that he raised that little trial balloon with JA after dinner in their bedroom tells me he WANTS to let her know (and at some point, obviously, she will).
Also, I never could figure out if HY father knows she is the one EH has the crush on. Did I just miss that conversation…
I watched that part of Ep50 again. He DOES know....at 5 mins in, when they are having coffee, he let slip "so the sly fox you have feelings for...(then corrects himself)" So he knows she's the '100-year old fox with 9 tails' he referred to earlier. At the end of the ep, when they are having a meal at their apartment, and she mentions she is planning to see someone else, he doesn't say anything.
