Ep 1 was so fun! A proper romcom and the leads have great chemistry. I've been wondering why some leads have great chemistry and others don't and i think it might come down quite heavily on the male lead's acting and how interested they seem in the fl lol...idk how it works but it's just a working theory i have 🫠😂 Kang hoon is such a good actor and so underrated for how good he is. He pulls off the "man in love" look so well, one of those actors who has very expressive eyes and knows how to use them well haha

I totally squealed when he met up with the ml at the bar lol...that scene had me thinking this was a bl coz damn those two got great chemistry 😂 also didnt know cha woo min could be so believable as an idol but i actually really liked his idol dancing bit in the intro!
Also also only used to seeing kim hye jun in serious roles so this was really fun to watch. She is a seriously good actress, has got immense range. I totally hated her in kingdom, thought she was a badass in a shop for killers, and here, she was straight up adorable and naturally funny. This show is an adaptation but it's very rare that a kdrama actually feels like watching a webtoon (in a good way) and i think a big reason for that is kim hye jun's lively bright screen presence

That makes sense! Since u've found that this works for u then there's no trouble. I for one know i would lose out on a lot of original experiences with shows if i relied on viewer opinions alone tbh. Coz i think i have outrageous taste compared to the majority here lmao...our universe (and sold out on you) for example r two of my fav romcoms that came out this year hahaha...and if you've followed those two, u would know how noisy the hate/criticism is with those two. So i know i wouldve missed out on those dramas if i waited for the reviews to come out after they finished airing. Likewise I've been disappointed by a lot of popular shows i started coz of public opinion too, like agent kim for instance. I would rather they do a 25 21 kind of ending (i know, very different plots but just for the realistic ending and portrayal of relationships like this drama claims it will be) if they do explore infidelity without glossing over the fact 🤷♀️

In my humble opinion this is just making things too difficult for yourself as a fellow drama viewer lol...for instance, I've been dropping cdramas left and right this year but i still make it a point to check out at least the first few mins of the first episode of a new airing drama that has an interesting summary just to see if the chemistry from the leads or something ele in the plot/making will land for me somewhere. I did this last year with kdramas too coz last year was the worst slump for me with kdramas and finally found a handful like family by choice which really worked for me despite it not being a usual genre i watch. So u never know what will surprise u until u give it a try yourself without relying on external opinions or preconceived notions about a drama based on who the writer/director is 😄

That's a fair point...but i dont really see much to empathize with the moms in this particular situation tho tbh. Yes suk jin was harsh to them and an annoying character overall, that's true, but them shaming her for renting completely overrides any amount of empathy i could've spared them. So it made sense why the show emphasized on the rental units and their pov imo...
Love how they subverted the cliche truck of doom and made it their own featuring the actual protagonist of the show driving the truck for once hahahha...
Also really interesting how they're exploring the rental unit vs owned apartment prejudice in SK. It's been an interesting thing to learn about a different culture. I like how they're slowly beginning to explore many different societal issues without it being too preachy. The ml's growth is explored really well too. I especially love that every character is neither black or white, but simply regular people with flaws. Very well written script! Love everything about this show 👌👏
