Idk if i'm just over saturated from bloodhounds 2 earlier this year and teach you a lesson and wonderfools, all of which i loved, but this show isn't hitting as much as the ratings suggest it should for me as of rn...the plot seems somehow forced and I'm not fully sold on the whole world building and chemistry between the leads. But the action choreo is still top notch and so ji sub can totally throw a punch 👊
Coupang tv looks like a rising contender for original kcontent...loved everything about absolute value of romance, very original on many levels. Likewise, this drama looks really interesting too...I'll be on the look out for more coupang stuff in the future as well haha!

Couldn't agree more if I had to!! Last year was barely survivable with one mediocre second chance romance after the other... I thought they'd exhausted their entire canon of second chance romances last year for at least a decade and was happy this trend seemed to die with most of the romcoms that came out this year...but with this show and Our Sticky Love, it's looking like they're slowly bringing back that 2025 energy again 😭 I'm dreading it but hopefully the romance streak continues with better shows for the rest of this year...so far, other than Still Shining, Dream To You and Our Sticky Love, most of the romance kdramas had reciprocal relationships with feelings developing from scratch, and I'm here for it!!
This is a good drama but i feel like, as is the case with many cdramas (modern and otherwise), it could've wrapped up around ep 20. The slow burn romance, main characters' traumas and sub plots feel too drawn out at this point to sustain impact and interest. For a drama centered around bringing an overlooked football team success, it loses focus with too many episodes that inevitably bring too much clutter...
I'm so glad esther yu chose this drama. Since love game in eastern fantasy, this is definitely my new favorite esther drama. It definitely needed someone as bright and goofy like her to keep it engaging. Since im having a busy month and cant watch anything too addicting, i'm loving this all the more. The slow burn is done right so far with great pacing and i love the chemistry between the leads as well as the football boys. Chen jingke is so unfairly attractive too haha 😍
I usually never believe these reasons coz of SKorea's established obsession with being skinny but after taking a look at this movie's making stills on MDL, I think there might be truth to what she's saying since she looks the same as she did before the drastic weight loss in many of the stills. She mentions she lost this weight over the course of filming this movie which aligns with the making stills, so maybe this is what actually happened.
The sad reality now tho is if she feels pressured to stay this thin here on out for more "mainstream" conventional heroine roles...let's hope she doesn't give into the toxic weight culture 🤷♀️
