On Boys Love: The Movie Aug 24, 2021
I'd watched this after Youtube recommended it several years ago and had all but forgotten about it. Coming across the first film brought back all of story. I haven't seen that one completely but even so, this one is so much better. Still a mediocre production but with a strong potential. Characters have potential to be multi dimensional and layered but writing'd made them predictable and linear. Good thing that despite hardships and so much angst it finished on a good note.

Love affairs, secret relationship, infidelity, birth secret, greedy rich people, power struggle, murder mystery,…
I believe first thing is that TVN doesn't promote it much and it isn't as available to international viewers. Second point is that in recent years these kind of mature dramas have been produced one after another so they've became a trope of their own!! Not necessarily brilliant but one should be controversial, have something special or be quite available to attract audience. An exclusive village with several luxurious mansions and women in exquisite dresses aren't enough anymore. Plus if anything, this drama is complicated, it's full of characters and every one of them have a secret of their own, and in every episode something new is introduced. It's a double edged sword, keeps the intrigue for some and bores the other, personally I'm in the middle now. I know the ending of the source novel but given how this story's been going, I'm not as sure they stuck to that.

I can't believe it's halfway through and we're no way near the end! I like this drama, on one hand it's so boring for me I skip most of the filler scenes, yet I can't wait to see what will happen next!!! Specially considering the book ending.

Well I'm not too sure about the wife, it does seem to be that Jang Ho is obsessed with Eun Soo because she reminds…
In the book, her sister has died in childbirth and after failing to have children of her own, she had adapted het sister's son.

I looked up the brother of the princess cause he's a cutie and he was the cutie youngest prince in Lost Love in…
Plot seems interesting but it's way too long for my taste. Added it to my waiting list anyway.

Kdrama would add melodrama in it and 10 different people with their back stories and stuff..i like Japanese drama…
I won't spoil but in Japanese Ending I had a feeling that nothing was changed after all and it all was back on the first page, at least it was shown like that. Little subplots were handled better in SH as well.

Yeah, from 11 episodes to 20, surely you can imagine the additions!! Mind you, I prefer Korean ending better....

I'm with you on surplus subplot. I have a personal experience with "Kaisefu no Mita" and its Korean remake "Suspicious Housekeeper"!!

As much as I like this Japanese style, but I can't help wishing this was a kdrama so we wouldn't have to wait around 12 days for subs. Any way I'm really grateful to the people doing its subs. It's a clean job❤❤

If they follow the novel, then yes, Yeon Woo is Soo Hyun's brother's son. Yeon Woo's mother died when giving birth…
Really? I haven't read the book but I remember plot of a Japanese TV special based on it and it was quite different. Does it have english translation??

The first six eps are edge of your seat exciting, but the following eps are only an intensification of melodrama.…
The plot is rather original. And it could be such a great hit but it just slow down then gets dragged all the way till the last episode. I barely remember the order of the last 10 eps events.

I came back to give my final rating only to see it's dropped to under 8, sad to say but I completely understand this. Such a waste of a wonderful cast and characterization!!!

Both are his child!
It was kind of implied that the brother in law was YW's father. Maybe it's her sister's child or they had something going on together.
