The novel story isn't linear but the timing is confusing, it goes back to post wedding time and now (4-5 yrs later) without any notice. Or at least the one I'm reading is like that. I hope the story hasn't adopted this jumping style or if so, done it more gracefully.
It was actually very intresting but can someone help me explain the last part when that general had some flashbacks…
He didn't have those flashbacks, they did. They were seeing shots of his life. He was an Imjin war general whose corpse was used to put on a curse during Japanese Occupation of Korea.
For all its hype it's a mediocre and, in some parts, boring story. I was surprised to see its success in the box office but it has some big movie stars so it's understandable.
I don't know whether it was inspired by it but the dismemberment case, how the first pack was found and its tie to the Steel Factory reminded me of Nanjing University 1.19 dismemberment case. A very interesting yet tragic unsloved mystery.
