I think in some cases, the people who don't want the throne are better candidates. I believe that he would probably feel that he could be the ruler until the imperial grandson was old enough. But since he is in fact quite clever, I do believe he would manage the politics quite alright.

It's amazing how fast Li Ni's dad recovered. He was a nervous wreck in captivity, and with very little spine, now that everyone caters to him he sure is pleased with himself 🙈 Must be one of the most unfit people to lead I've seen so far.

You can't really do anything about the subs, but if you are watching on iqiyi you can turn the play speed down and thus get longer time to read. It might sound weird though 😅

Well each drama will have their flaws, and also the occasional trolls. As I am not really a modern romance watcher in most cases, I can recommend the few I have watched but it's not that big a list(if you want something focused mostly on romance).

Romance dramas is not really my thing, so I am not watching any other modern drama atm except for this one. I am watching mostly costume dramas so I cannot say which one has more focus. I watched the first 4 episode of Love is panacea and they were quite dramatic (although a bit funny) but can't say since I haven't continued.
