I feel like they have so many other side couples(who progress a bit faster and has less angst) since there are so many obstacles for Qipa And Kui Mulang to go through. She is deadset on going home(which yeah is the logical thing to do after having been kidnapped) while he desperately needs her to stay for the stability of his kingdom.

I see your point, but I also feel like it's also a bit more "realistic" in some ways that there is not really a clear villain or mastermind tbh. I also feel that the story worked without it. But villains are definitively interesting and fun to watch.

Yeah but it also feel like it would be a bit against her character to do so at this point. Hopefully moving forward after this latest hurdle we will see tomorrow she will slowly come to appreciate him.

I didn't watch his other dramas so can't compare, but I think it's true for most actors that they "shine" more with some people compared to others 🙂 I think Lu Xiaoyu is super adorable so I am just really happy looking at her sweet smile 🥰
