Luqing ask xiao fan - let’s go back to the way we were, Xiaofan leave for another city.

Luqing then kind of chased him to that city, and helped his family again with their mess, meanwhile asking him to go back to their old relationship.

then all kinds of other stuff happens (Xiaofan gets his revenge on people)

eventually Luqing ask Xiaofan to get married

book spoilers:

having read the book and now watching, I find it frustrating that in book and drama, Luqing is kind of opaque. I was always guessing what he really thought. I think he really feels something for Xiaofan early on, but Xiaofan’s endless asking for favours got in the way, partly because it made Xiaofan always feel indebted and inferior and felt like Luqing was being kind and pitying him. So even if Luqing loved him, the relationship is based on unequal terms.

2nd I think Luqing was not sure if Xiaofan is doing all this in order to help his family or if he truly likes Luqing.

Unfotunatelt those regular length dramas with big budgets and beautiful directing lacks this raw simmering tension and heat.
A few short dramas out there are good, but most verticals are not well made or get rather over dramatic and silly.

I’m only on episode 13. Just want to say I love the interactions between FL and Qian qian. Both so beautiful intelligent kind and genuine. Both actresses doing superb job in this drama.
