I am thinking maybe she is not his real mom who knows or the alternative is she thinks he is a jinx and want nothing…
The Mom acted like she cared about him when she sent him away when he was born to survive; however, when he returned, she appears to only want to use him to help her other son.

The King says it's his biological Mom so I'm wondering if her first born was someone else's child, if she got pregnant by someone else and was forced by her parents to marry the King, may resent getting pregnant by the King and not love Yu Qi at all. She sure acted strange when she met him.
You must not have watched her in Sword and Brocade because she was pretty despicable in that drama as well.
You're right, I missed that one. I'm more into the costume dramas with action than slice of life. Sounds like she was worse in that one from the comments.
This grandmother usually plays a person with strong morals, always wise and supportive of the good characters in a drama. In this one, she's pretty despicable. She sways whichever way the wind is blowing.
The walking. Lots of shoes must get worn out on the servants. Also in some dramas they are riding a horse in one…
I'm usually amused by the drowning trope. In this series, ML is a great swimmer and it looks natural that he's swimming at a downward trajectory to save the FL; however, in some series, let's just say the actors should take swimming lessons if they're going to continue in costume dramas, lol.
I love Vengo, and with all the dark sombre series ending in deaths, am sure hoping this will have a happy ending.…
Agree, the martial arts / wire work was done well. For being a few years old before release, I think it held up well. I'm not bored or FFing through any parts.
I'm an action junkie so this drama is my cup of tea. Series become boring for me if the location doesn't move around a bit with a lot of action. This series fits the bill. Are there flaws? Yes. But the strengths outweigh the flaws, like the FL's childish voice. Obviously, this is not for everyone as evidenced by the comments section; however, for those viewers that like action, movement in a series, romance, a search for a treasure trove, fighting and tension between different sects, a decent plot and many characters in the story line, this may be your cup of tea, as well.
LOL. I love a lot of action in my series so this one fits the bill. I've watched a lot of series with FL in it…
😂 Thankfully, it's not arm waving. Yes, the FL voice sounds too young and childish for this actress. I don't think it's her real voice but, as you said, the real action in this one makes up for any flaws.
Episode 2 complete. The fight scenes are a mix between awesome and goofy. I love them! The villain is Scooby Doo…
LOL. I love a lot of action in my series so this one fits the bill. I've watched a lot of series with FL in it and this voice dubbing doesn't really suit her but it's not too detracting.
Same.. and I finally made the decision to drop Perfect Match. I couldn't get with the story and the chemistry…
LOL, I'm the opposite. I start them all at once and currently I have about 20 costume dramas I switch back and forth between, many of them I'm around episode 23 on each and still a ways to go. Of the ones I'm most interested in, I'll watch those episodes first. I'm sure your method is better but I'm always eager to start new stuff, especially when a number of C-dramas slow down mid way before they pick up again toward the end.
