Deserves to bump up to ML roles; oozes sex appeal, great acting, has the looks and talent.

These series are coming out fast and furious. I have so many on hold while I try to finish the best of the bunch. Somebody make the days longer.

I hear what you are saying. People lament all the time about why some of their favorite second leads or actors that play the mini's all the time don't get lead roles and talented actors that people love, like Zhang Zhehan were ushered out of the acting business for good due to the actions of China's water armies and Weibo who, it is alleged, allowed negative, false narratives to flourish on their site (sold my Weibo stock as a result.) I don't think anything is going to change in the near term.

In the U.S., students bring lawsuits very quickly these days and the payouts send a message that the behavior won't be tolerated.

Now that Lusi is an A-list star, she should have the means to bring slander and harassment lawsuits against all of these people who wronged her and challenge the exorbitant fee to end her contract with Xu Yirao. Winning those law suits will help Lusi get her confidence back and heal.

I only watch costume dramas and they usually start slow and build but I agree there are many that have action, etc. from the start. Your choice if you want to watch or not.

When you have a 40 episode drama, it takes time to build. If you want to start where the synopsis above starts, skip to episode 7 and ML will be at that point by the end of the episode - you won't miss much as the beginning just shows him getting there.

Yes, he deserves to always be a lead but they often make him a secondary character in the higher budget c-dramas. He might need a better agency as his acting is incredible.

Episode 3 is a hoot. This series keeps getting better.

I didn't appreciate his acting in his earlier works; however, I thought his acting and the series he was in were pretty good starting with The Love Last Two Minds. The series has a stiff personality written into the story line for him so it helps. His acting seems to be ok so far for the sad parts, he's not crying buckets like other actors but he is tearing up and it looks realistic. I agree with other reviewers that this is a hidden gem, not boring at all, no skipping so far.

I like more action myself and less politics. Unfortunately though, The Double is hard to surpass as it was so superior to most other series.
