So this was filmed about the same time as "Be my Princess"? FL did a pretty good job of acting in that drama - one of my favorites with Jeremy Tsui!

I know it is good when I wake up in the morning and watch the next episode right away. Usually for new drama I will just wait a few weeks until most of the episodes have aired & watch at my leisure. And usually I dislike the lone, strong woman type dramas - girl boss etc. There is no way that a 5'2" girl who weighs 100 pounds can take on a beat down from a big man with a sword. It is against the laws of physics. Despite my bias, for some reason this drama got me to suspend my disbelief. Love the costumes, actors & sets etc.

I really like YingYing. She was strong & brave enough to take her destiny into her own hands, leave a pampered lifestyle and go off into the wide world in order keep her integrity. She takes on the household chores despite the fact that she is awful at them - like falling into the well - but climbing out by herself (episode 7). ML Ye Xiao Tian loves her dearly and she is loyal despite all the obstacles thrown in their path. Ye Xiao Tian has a dream where they are by a waterfall, both dressed in wedding attire and her veil floats away in the wind after he lifts it. That is so poignant.

Why does the heroine have to be a martial artist? Most women are not. Women are strong in different ways - from each other & different from men. Ms. Song Zu Er portrayed the young Xia Ying Ying so sweetly - a bit naive but strong enough to leave a protected home in order to keep her integrity. Plus (to the point I watched) she was loyal to her man. And as far as the harem thing goes - gads - why do modern men dream of that in their novels? It is impossible to be fair to more than one spouse. Harems are a relic from the times when people were nomads, had a high mortality rate & had to divide the work among several women. Or from the times when political marriages linked tribes & countries - but note well the debacle of "Ruyi in the Palace" - what a mess that was!!

The ML is completely oblivious to the fact that Zhan Ning Er ( actress Ms. Wang Zi Tong) has a crush on him. She is a comrade in arms.

This plot summary on MDL does not match the one on YOUKU. I am not surprised they missed it - it is placed rather obscurely and I had to click on a link that was up in a corner to get it. It sounds like the original plot from the 2001 TV series.

I sure hope so. I refuse to watch this to the end because they killed her. I just rewatch the first half! 😢It would make sense to resurrect her since the ML is the head of a powerful sect.

Mr. Ao has several recently released dramas. That may be something the film companies take into consideration. The smart thing for them is to time the releases at least a month apart? Also I saw a site that stated December of 2023! ACK! 🤪Hope it happens sooner!

Some one mentioned that regional licensing might be the problem. Right now on my iQiYi I get a message saying that this drama is not available in the US! Pooh!

I think the reviewer got it incorrect. I don't know exactly what the plot of the new show is - but the bandit bride trope with the kidnapped father is from Truth or Dare. Looking at the trailer - Miss Du gets sent to the general's house. The original TV 2001 drama has the general paired accidentally to the well educated & refined Miss Du and Young Master Qi marrying Miss Li who is good at martial arts.

The original Wrong Carriage Right Groom was from 22 years ago - a TV series that was quite charming. Bassed on the novel by Ms, Xi Juan.

Truth or Dare is quite different. In this drama there is no bandit fortress nor gambling father who has to sell his daughter. Nor is there a Night Elf crime fighter. The only similarity seems to be a mix up in brides.

The 2001 original TV series is charming. The actress who played Miss Du is gorgeous and General Yuan was quite manly. The production values of 20 years are clunky but I enjoyed it.
