Why doesn’t he tell his mum? Was there a scene that gave us a good reason? Did I miss it?
He is 20 something and has found his partner for life (at least we as viewers are supposed to believe Pete&Kao is endgame, true love whatever). There is really no reason to NOT tell her. It will not be easier in two or five years. It just makes him look insecure and not confident that this relationship will last which apparently he his for whatever reason.

i'm really enjoying sun and morks relationship i think they have a very subtle but real chemistry that makes it…

They changed the storyline/characters. As far as I remember in KMA Pete was unsure about being gay and afraid…
The movie I mentioned did not have a bad end. I don't want a bad/sad ending, I want the real struggle that pulls on your heart strings. What DBK did until now was showing us problems on a very shallow level like they aren't willing to go deeper for obvious reason. The typical BL has to be a bit superficial and overly positive so most people can enjoy it with a smile and don't get depressed. I'm waiting for a scientific study that shows us how this kind of entertainment has a long-term (positive) effect on every day life, because I seriously doubt it. The entertainment industry always sells you fairy tales, but then reality hits you hard.

It seems some people are loving the second couple, some don't like them. I'm normally more into the first couple and I don't like relationships with age-gaps, but those two (the second couple) are really believable. I like their conversations and I like how Sun Bo Xiang matured in this short amount of time. He as a character seems to be more serious than Hao Ting, even though both have this silly and immature attitude and behave a bit crazy, because they are in love. I honestly can see how this couple works out very well. The older guy seems to be responsible and smart. Not to mention that kiss at the end of the episode. It was nicely done and pretty hot, yeah. But what really blew my mind: for a tiny second I could 100% imagine those two having sex. NOW. On the floor. Wherever. I normally don't feel like that. Even if two actors deliver passionate kissing, even if there are after-sex-scenes, most of the times I just think "Nah, you guys never had sex and never will." It's so obvious there are two actors (in most BL series two "straight" actors) who will never have sex together (or with another man). So this really took me by surprise how believable they delivered that kiss. It gives me some Korn&Knock vibes for sure.

I watched my fair share of coming out stories. I remember watching a gay series (I think it was Spanish) where the mother said something like "I don't care about you being gay. I'm disappointed that you didn't tell me." This was a terrible line. NO parent out there doesn't care about their child being gay. NO parent wishes for their child to be gay. Being gay doesn't make your life easy. Most parents wish for grandchildren etc. If the coming-out-plot is done well, I'm all in for it. I lately watched a movie where the father (he was raising the son alone) had to deal with him being gay and it was hard for him. He was a good guy, he supported his son, but it was difficult. You could see the struggle (not the struggle to accept his son, the struggle to help him and support him and do your best job as a parent). So I personally don't see the point in showing us how it's no big deal. It is done for more acceptance I know, but for me it feels empty if you know it will be all rainbows and flowers anyways. I remember in Together With Me they did a rather good job, because Knock was honestly afraid of telling them (it was a very touching scene), but still: rainbows and flowers at the end. In KMA was a scene with Pete's father that again showed us, it's no big deal being gay. In DBK it will be the same. That mother knows about them and she will support her son with that soft voice of hers. So what's the whole drama for? Pointless, really. This story lacks any depths. And even though the parents wouldn't be accepting, I'm sure they would be portrayed as some bad and choleric people (like Non's father). They just don't want to show us the "real" struggle in those kind of series.

What really impresses me the most about the series is how natural the acting is. It all feels so sincere ecspecially…
I think the second couple is doing a very good job too. I normally don't like relationships with big age gaps, but they make it work and look so natural.

There will be intimate scenes. They said that several times in interviews.
Where did you get that info from? It says +15 on this site. A mistake?

Dark Blue Kiss has a rating of +15. Don't know what they're thinking ... Maybe it's just a mistake or maybe it's an Asian thing. I have seen a lot of Asian series that were +15 and I could show them my 7 years old niece without a problem.

LOL, I'm saying this since ep2: they changed Kao's character and I'm not forgiving them. He was the sole reason…
Was it really that bad? It was a bit crazy and stupid, but the result was pretty nice.

"Because sometimes I do the 5 sec skip when they're just breathing -.-" Hahahahaha ...
They are just sitting, thinking, breathing ... who knows? And they always make the same faces. I honestly would root for a Non&Kao plot. That would spice things up.

Why did you rate the series as +18 ? According to the epsodes already seen, in my country it would be classified…

The decision to not add kiss scenes is the biggest fail. Even if the plot and dialogues are slow and cringy, with some well delivered cute and romantic scenes it could still be an entertaining watch. Imagine they would have kissed in all those scenes where the director decided NOT to make them kiss, like in the pool, in the bedroom, in the car ... We would have at least 4 kisses by now. Just imagine ... it's so sad. I really loved the kiss in Our Skyy. It was nothing big, nothing passionate, but it was so sweet, the dialogue was cute, the scenery was beautiful. No need to make it sexual and erotic. I just don't get what kind of message they want to deliver by not showing us those scenes. Apparently the director said he wants to concentrate on the story and acting. Neither the story nor the acting is convincing. Make a powerful and convincing story and I'm sold. But this is not intriguing at all.

On a side note: I watch it at speed 1,25. No problem following the subtitles. You aren't even aware that's speeded up. I mean, that's proof how SLOOOOW this is. How they make big pauses while they are talking, how slow everything happens.

For those who says this series is more believable or shows a more real side of things-- if I wanted real I would…
I think a realistic drama is much, much better than some kind of fairy tale plot, because you can learn something from it, identify with the characters etc. But in this case I doubt this is realistic. Do people out there really have such boring lives? The dialogue is the worst. It's just so slow.

Did you watch Kiss The Series? They reinvented Kao 3 (!!!) times now. And this kind of plot (coming out anxiety) is pretty cliche and ALWAYS the next step if there is an established relationship. They did the same in Together With Me. Making Kao the one who is in the closet makes no sense to me.

Idk what's going on. I feel like Kao isn't even acting like Kao... it's like he's a diff character. I might have…
LOL, I'm saying this since ep2: they changed Kao's character and I'm not forgiving them. He was the sole reason why this couple worked so well (for me). He was so bold, didn't take Pete's BS and was the one in control in this relationship. Him fighting off Pete when he wanted to cuddle etc. was fitting the "you're playing hard to get" theme. It was cute and funny. Now it's just irritating. In KMA he gave in after all, in DBK it just seems like the director is avoiding kiss scenes at all cost.
It's so stupid.

Initially I thought Kao was the stronger and more stable character (over Pete) but the show seems to be going…
They changed the storyline/characters. As far as I remember in KMA Pete was unsure about being gay and afraid of what would happen when those photos his girlfriend made of them kissing would leak. Kao said something like "You cannot take a decision if it's getting difficult" which Pete took to heart, so he didn't try to hide the relationship. Now suddenly Kao is the one who is afraid of coming out? Kao was a completely different character in KMA. He became that kind of "bottom" I honestly don't enjoy watching. But other people may like it.

I think the script is at fault. Tay was incredible in 3 will be free. In DBK he almost seems like a bad actor.…
In Love Beyond Frontier he was unbearable to watch. The same in Dark Blue Kiss. I don't like his acting at all. In KMA he was my favorite though. Strange. Maybe I'm just not into those whiny/cute roles. In KMA he had some balls.

I agree with everything you said. I'm actually really enjoying this show, exactly because SunMork are a beautiful…
Don't listen to the negative comments. Don't take it personal. This is just the way it is on this site. You cannot expect everyone to love a series.
