The fact that William actually resembles Johnny from NCT is what makes me question OP's eye health. Maybe I'm bias because I've been watching William for years and know what he can deliver....idk.
It's always a pleasure to watch her, I'm so glad she's back, I hope William doesn't pale next to her.
He always stands his own. The first bit is going to be mainly from her POV(and focused on her) so he's going to feel more like a supporting character for a bit, but that's simply how the story is meant to unfold.
I've watched up to episode 6 and I think I'm going to wait it out a bit more to catch up because I can see HaoMing entering his villain era and I just don't think I can take all the people plotting and manipulating Yan right now. I love that our two leads are both grey characters and that they will go through many transformations, but lord knows I need to see that the tunnel has an end before I just go off into the darkness.
Oh no. It's not going to be a weekly release. It's just going to be a season dump. I hate it when netflix does this. It doesn't allow for fandom building or viewer building. And then they use those first week numbers as the end all be all analytic

not the one here at least anymore. the first time i looked this drama up over a year ago either on this site or another it mentioned the characters relationships more. also I was asleep & then working, no need to yell at someone when a simple "hey, might want to mark this as spoiler"
umm....it was in the synopsis for years. I thought this was known information that was intrinsic to the story. like this was the very first information I learned about his character when the show was originally announced to be filming.

It's been implied multiple times even in the first few episodes that HaoMing is extremely similar to Yan when it comes to observation, calculation, and information. He knows things and plays it off as a coincidence, like the fact his mother was cornering her, dropping teasing hints that he has someone giving him information inside her own company about her...etc. He's also already shown that he has more than one side. His own passion and the thing he feels the most control over, the Agave shop or whatever it is he's doing, and the rich heir to his father's empire who though gives good advice is still treated like a kid who is still learning the ropes. I feel like later on multiple masks will be dropped.
I'm only on episode 3, but I'm wondering if we'll ever get a POV shift over to what's going on in Shen YaoMing's mind. We have insights really only from Yan's POV. So I'm interested to see how he sees her and his situation.

I've just finished episode 3. She's showing remarkable restraint in her responses to slights, blatant disrespect, and HR violations. Her restraint depends on the the person as well. The character is performing a role of a dutiful daughter-in-law who respects all her elders no matter how they treat her behind her back or straight to her face.
The subtle looks and drops in expression once the other person's back is turned tells me Lusi is doing an extremely good and detailed job at this role. We have barely scratched the surface of her character. Even we, the audience, haven't really gotten to see Yan yet(as of episode 3 as that's how far I've gotten). We see she is determined, smart, and calculative. She knows how to manipulate situations to her benefit, and so far nothing has shown cruelty or abuse of power.
When she's practicing the dance alone in her room talking to her grandmother her face softens, but in the scene she's still lying to her grandmother.
The character is constantly on guard. She has built her castle on sand and knows that any wrong move can topple it to the ground.
We haven't even gotten half-way yet. Once we get to the storyline where Yan and HaoMing get to know each other without any secrets THEN I would say we could judge Lusi's performance with more accuracy. It's very much giving abused child who doesn't want to say the wrong thing or move too quickly less she be hit. The character is trying to be perfect and not let any of her flaws show. So to me her performance makes perfect sense.

It's VIP so depending on the site you use, not unusual. If you're paying for the vvip then it should be ready. But if you are using another site it will take a little longer.
People, please cherish this drama, as it might be Lusi's last. As a Lusi fan, I delved into the C-drama world…
*for a while* not forever. I believe that she can get past all of her company drama, and she can fully heal. Other artists have gone through similar things(with their company) and eventually comeback, sometimes even stronger. My main concern is how her short term memory is doing. As she has previously mentioned that memorizing things at the moment was extremely difficult because of her health. I think the general public have now seen that her company has been blocking & spreading misinformation about her. She has a strong likability among producers, directors, & her fellow actors. I believe that once all the legal mess is clear & she can actually reduce her stress, if she wants to continue doing dramas she will be able to. I just refuse to believe that she won't make more dramas or movies if she is still passionate about that side of her career.
for the musically inclined watchers. the more western score the one that sounds really orchestral....is that an organ i hear or is a mix of brass & string? i just remember thinking the score sounded very cinematic & it gave Hans Zimmer vibes. I dont often hear this style score in a cdrama & it made me curious.
Did I have a long blink or was the editing off in episode 32. I feel like an entire scene is missing. by the time we get 30ish minutes in ML & 2ML are at a location talking about something we didnt see. (I hate it when they tell & dont show) I feel like a scene of like 30seconds to a minute tops would have been enough to establish them going on a journey, but nope when just dropped into a new space & expositioned to death. side-eye...

ABC pulled Jimmy Kimmel off the air after being threatened by the head of the FCC because Jimmy pointed out things about the President that the President didnt like. ABC/Disney are trying to make a deal that needs FCC approval so they pulled Jimmy's show. aka Free speech is going the way of the Dodo in America. There is a lot of corruption happening & so people are showing their displeasure with Disney by canceling their Disney+, Hulu, ESPN subscriptions as a peaceful protest against loss of free speech. America is moving ever closer to full dictatorship.
