i know i know the voice of the actor playing the uncle...but im not 100% sure it's who I think it is. & my brain is not only blanking on the man's name but my trick of looking people up through their work isn't wanting to function. Come on brain you can do it!
Yeah people sleep with full make-up and all hair pieces still in place, and doesn't even change their clothes.…
it's only in idol dramas. never in non idol dramas. the hair might stay up a bit depending on dynasty, but not to the level the dramas that I regularly watch make it seem. If you ever watch a more (for lack of a better term) serious drama or movie, they have a no make-up make-up look with hair down.
So far the only characters that haven't betrayed or lied is one. The middle sister of the Jun family...everyone else is a lying liar who lied. (FL, Jun Qi Luo had good reason to lie, but still liars the lot of 'em.)
This may not be direct spoilers but it's a critique of the production choices as well as idol productions in general. If you don't want to engage in that kind of discussion, simple close the spoiler tag and keep scrolling. It will not hurt your feelings, nor mine, if you don't read it.
I feel like the wardrobe department messed up in having Jun Qi Luo continue to dress the way she has been in episode 20. I feel like her character would have wanted the protection of her former "armour" ie Jun FeiFan. Even more so with the choices she makes within the episode. It's one of the main issues I always have with idol dramas. Everyone needs to look perfect even when they are going through hell. So not a hair out of place, covered in jewelry that she still wouldn't have been used to wearing with her hair in intricate stylings...it shows a lack of humanness that idol dramas maintain. Cry, but cry beautifully. Be poor or a salve, but have an other worldly glow about you and your face just ever so slightly dirty as to not detract from your beauty. Just had something extremely traumatic and life threatening happen...gotta make sure every hair and piece of clothing and jewelry perfectly placed. *production side-eye....bombastic side-eye*
It would have been so much more satisfying if QiMin stabbed the princess in the neck and just called it a wrap. It was so blissful without her presence mucking up every plan.
This has no right to be this good....like HELLO action direction, cinematography, and editing department! An immediately endearing ML, with relatable weaknesses, but super hero like strengths. The kindness oozes off of Yun Ga Min and his perseverance through everything and he's still just KIND. He is green flag/golden retriever/gentle giant energy all rolled into one.
Also, I'm only just started episode 2, but I smell a cop amongst them...iykyk...I might be wrong...but...๐
i think they know each other from Lisa working in China as a coach for a competition show. also Angelababy speaks like 6 languages or something crazy so it wouldn't shock me in the least if they had similar circles. but i don't know 100% if they are friend.
Pretty much boils down to Angelababy being in Paris the same night Lisa performed a burlesque show at Crazy Horse...that somehow qualified Angelababy getting her socials taken down and grey/blacklisted in China.
Oh gosh, coming back after reading the comments, which are a whole another drama. ๐ But I'll say, many of us…
The relationship between 3rd(Kang Ning) and Chai An gives Pride & Prejudice vibes a la Elizabeth and Darcy. And the whole 5 daughters...that's about all the commonalities as of now.
I don't get why so many people here say heโs a cheater when I donโt think he actually is? Iโm pretty sure…
I honestly can't tell if it's implied or just not happening. They mention many women when discussing him, and they talk about how it's not a wife's place to be jealous. So imo he's sleeping with entertainers on the regular and possibly some of the maids in his house.
who is A dao? li's son is alive? why I feel like he's A dao? or atleast that's what I wich ๐
The majority of the cast list isn't even available yet so your guess is as good as mine if Kang Ning's twin is still alive. But A Dao is the scholar with Du Yang Xi. The two switch off playing the other's servant so they can better move in the circles they need to when traveling for an imperial exam. As not having a servant is looked down on in scholarly/noble families.
the slow burn is slow burning personality i love it
She's still a winy selfish brat with no clue about the real world...or the fact that being someone's slave doesn't exactly give them warm fuzzy feelings for their "master". She has shown negative growth in the last 16 episodes that I've seen. He is still in mission mode so his lack of "growth" is more understandable because he has a literal job to do. There is nothing about slavery that makes me get butterflies and want to kick my feet. Until he is back in his own country with his own bodily autonomy and power back this whole "relationship" is gross.

also already proven incorrect about my cop theory...just thought I'd add that here.
