Yes, you have a right to rant. (I do, too.) I never said or implied otherwise. You still have not made it clear what you meant. You thought highly of the character and then capriciously altered your opinion of her because she mourned the loss of somebody who was essentially a childhood friend. Stupidity or intelligence had nothing to do with the emotion she displayed. Furthermore, if you feel insulted, take some time to see just how much you insulted people in your post.

In some ways, a female Luo Yunxi, as it were. I would like to see those two together in some action / fight scenes.

Are you saying that she was stupid for crying or for some other reason which you do not give? If the latter, how can you not be aware that biologically, emotions are not governed by intelligence (or a lack therof) - and vice versa? I accept that you did not like this part of the drama, (there is nothing wrong with that) but your overall comments show a decided lack of maturity and learning.

Thank you for replying. I have now watched up to ep. 14 but my comments still stand. Such a lot of wasted time - pity, because these two are quite good together. Still, hopefully things will continue to improve. (15/16 are not yet available to me but I would not be surprised to learn that it was the CP.)

What is it with the scriptwriters for this drama. I am so frustrated and annoyed. I have just watched up to episode 9 and this is the first time she mentioned her child in front of him. Previously, we were not aware of whether he knew about her mother and her child being killed (presuming of course that he didn't do it) or not. But there is no reaction from him even after she says something, other than to say, "Don't you trust me?"
As he didn't show any surprise, are we to infer that he knew of their deaths? Was he saying that he didn't kill them? Then why not just say so? Moreover, why couldn't she just ask him why or if he killed their child at this point? And why did it not occur to him, if he did know, that she could have been crying for the loss of her child? The typical jealous lover (men and women are both alike in this respect) has to make everything about the rival.

No. I was replying to your comments 'CONGRATS ON 28.000 HEAT!!!' and 'investment level'. I have been watching films and dramas for seventy years, and I would never consider how much investment went into the production of that which I watched or the number of people who liked it. It is unnatural. The only important thing to me is whether I liked it, and it should be the same for you. I get the impression that you are too concerned with knowing how many thousands of people like a particular drama. just because you like it.

P.S. My question, 'Who cares about ratings?' was not rhetorical.

Why would you be 'very worried' worry about this? If nasty people want to make hateful, immature comments about an actor or an actress, or indeed, anybody at all, it is not your responsibility to feel anxiety on his or her behalf. This is unhealthy and will cause you a lot of stress. You can appreciate someone without carrying this burden.

Really, who cares about ratings. One likes a drama, one doesn't like it, or one has mixed views about it - ratings will never change that. Even if one is influenced by the ratings why think that the rest of us want to know the figures. A rating is not a review.

Why does it matter where the ratings are? Does it alter your personel enjoyment or unenjoyment of the drama? If so, that is a very narrow world view.

Because he is an arrogant male who thinks that he should be above women; who thinks that he should be able to have muliple women, whilst his wife, whom he refuses to acknowlege that he divorced, should not be able to have another man even when it was legal. People like this can not see their own hypocrisy.

I wonder why he thinks that she killed (or was responsible for killing) his family? Nothing in the synopsis to reflect this.

I agree - entirely. But he does not display 'psychopathic' behaviour. There are some personality disorders that might fit.

Firstly, the men whom he commanded would be put to death if they did not obey his every order - not because of the nasty character of the marquis himself but because that is how obedience was maintained world-wide throughout history. Secondly, the way that they behave, however reprehensible to us in modern times, would have been quite usual, too, given the lack of todays societal mores and legal rights, etc. I am sure that the ancient world had its fair share of psychopaths but, these guys do not actually fit the medical definition of the word.
