It seems to me that most of the negative comments are coming from younger people who are disappointed in the actors and the romance, or what they see as the lack of it. So, it depends on how old you are and what you expect. Just because sombody doesn't like it (which is fine) doesn't mean that it is bad. I'm enjoying it and shall rewatch it a couple of times but, as a grandmother, my maturity gives me a different perspective. Why don't you wait until it is finished and then binge some episodes?

I am not disagreeing with you about possible names for the drama but 'blooming' here could be seen as 'coming into one's own'.

I have not actually checked for you, so I do not know what the subs are like for this drama. Good side is, you can watch many new drama episodes before they air elsewhere. Sorry, I asked the questions wrongly. I knew that he learned about his mother's death in the beginning but I assumed, wrongly, that the memories were wiped out. (I'm watching Director's Cut.) So, he has just forgotten F/L, whilst she has forgotten, M/L, her teacher (2M/L), and the fact that her family was all but wiped out. b) I am now on ep. 23 and nothing has been said to show that he knows. I'll just have to wait and see (sigh). Thank you.

I am not a fan of Xianxia. I have fully watched a couple of older ones but have dropped many others. Starry Love was a pleasant suprise. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope that you do too. No angst. (I'm a binge watcher, too.)

Just to give you some perspective, (I used to work for Womens' Aid) it was legal to rape your wife in most US states until the mid -70s; in the UK until 2003 (1991, in one case); and in China, marital rape is not classed as a civil or criminal offence - but there have been some exceptions. In a recent poll, 22% of Chinese men believed that they could (or should be allowed to?) have non-consensual sex with their wives.

This is just a thought, but have you looked on Dramanice? I haven't looked myself, as I am watching it on Viki. Sometimes, (I don't know how often) auto subbed versions are later substituted with manually subbed versions. (P.S. Do I need to warn you not to click on any notifications or adverts, etc., on that site?)

Didn't they do a four episode 'reunion' drama?

a) After returning to the palace, the 5th prince is shown being loving and attentive towards his 'mother'. In what episode do we see that he 'knows' that his 'mother' killed his real mother - either by remembering, or by having been told by 2nd M/L's grandfather?

b) When (if at all) does he discover the truth about his older brother's death?

I , too, avoided watching this drama for years (see Lotus; Rina; below) but having seen CXX in other dramas, I thought that I would watch it. Also, I watched the ending first, which I tend to do before deciding to watch a tragedy. I have just finished episode 18, and I have a couple of questions which I have marked as a spoiler, below.
