I think the producers were too ambitious. Chinese gov office forbids BLs but the company were trying to bypass the rules. This is a Chinese production after all. Only could survive being promoted for international fans through international companies like with other "Chinese" BLs (those who were registered as Taiwanese or Thai productions, despite the actors and productions being entirely Chinese). Iqiyi has a vast collection of Thai BLs i n their international sites, so the genre is allowed as long is not registered as Chinese. Let's also remember that BLs are not representative of the LGBTQ+ community. LGBTQ+ Chinese bloggers in China always express that the government does not have a problem with the community and LGBTQ+ travellers report feeling safer in China than in other countries. Violence against the LGBTQ+ community is almost unheard. The government considered sexual identities and options belonging to the private sphere of the individual. I am not saying things are perfect for the community but remember that in other Asian countries still being gay is a criminal offence, while China it has been legal for decades, before even than in some Western countries.

This drama is not distributed in China. People use foreign VPN to watch it. It has not real impact in viewing numbers there. Only in the circle of Chinese BLs watchers which in comparison to the overall c-drama viewers is nothing. The incident with Ziyu from Revenged Love is that Ziyu is a relatively known idol, he was in a group and left. People recognise him because he was in the mainstream media and is all very exaggerate it anyway. I have Chinese friends in China and if I don't mention that there is a ABO Desire series, they would have never known, but they knew Ziyu, for the reason above.

I really suggest to read the novel because there is important information missing. Eg the company HY inherited were basically mafia, drug dealers he is trying to clean the company before revealing himself to his lover that wouldnt tolerate to be associated with criminals. May i also remember people this is the Omegaverse is ruled by predators so the behaviour of HY, an enigma, it is not as shocking to his S Alpha. HY is superior in that chain. Another thing to know is that in this genre, Alphas are versatile.
