The timing of these kind of gossips always makes me suspicious. What a coincidence Lee Jae Wook new drama started to air yesterday. People always think of gossip magazines as the evil people and in most cases, they are kind of evil but often they work with the actors' agencies to create traffic and attention to upcoming dramas. People don't be so naïve.
Quite a few of us who love the drama are not Japanese teenage girls! but international grow up audience. I hope…
Do you have any problem with people having sexual fantasies? Mental health experts defined these as a "natural, universal psychological phenomenon similar to dreaming" that is positive for mental health (in most cases). And of course, here it comes the obnoxious comment "like horny teenagers" used in your narrative as an insult of course. Nobody is here writing "passionately" about the series, it is you who "passionately" offend us, we are no longer in the fun space of having a chat on a Japanese production, but reacting to offensive remarks thrown bluntly to straight women and the LGBTQ+ community viewers.
Quite a few of us who love the drama are not Japanese teenage girls! but international grow up audience. I hope…
Your broad generalisation is what makes your comments BS , and yes misogynistic. Song Kang, with a huge fan base, is one of those big examples. My Demon started with high ratings in MDL, near 9, and all the Song Kang haters were writing obnoxious insults to all of us for liking My Demon. Again I was there for the FL who is considered one of the Queen of K Dramas. Yet Song Kang has very low-rated series in MDL, some as low as 6! So where are those "oppa worshippers" that you mentioned? Every single top Korean male lead has low-rated dramas but every time they have a successful drama here come along nasty comments like yours. To add insult to injury, you have to mention age! I definitely would not watch Big Bet and have nothing to do with the actor being older. We are an international audience, older top actors like Anthony Hopkins, Judie Dench, bring lots of audience to a production, and I have quite the list of older Asian actors that are my favourites too.

Exactly like that! Thank you. A condescending and misogynistic post indeed. Daily, in MDL stupid people like this offend the majority of viewers of K Dramas saying they are watching/appreciating a drama because the male leads!? The use of the word "oppa" is so ignorant as well. Oppa means older brother and it is used by Korean women about an older male who is relatively close to them (e.g. friends, co-workers, boyfriends). Korean women don't call every man "oppa"! Personally, I did not even know the Korean actor before this series. Like many viewers, I am here because of Fumi Nikaido (FL)!
Gave it one last try. My final opinion is that its not for me and the targeted audience is without a doubt japanese…
Quite a few of us who love the drama are not Japanese teenage girls! but international grow up audience. I hope your intention was not to be offensive, though in MDL people are insulted for far less 😂
Can people stop wishing for characters to die? Fist it's a tv show.. and secondly do you think is normal to wish…
It is a slasher!, we knew what it was about before starting the series. It is like watching a rom com and not wanted to watch a couple falling in love in funny situations. In this series people are going to die!
I hate BOC deaply but i'm really fascinated by the way they make people talk about very serious issues.
Thank you, I thought I was the only one who had a bad opinion of BOC! when I suggested that I may not have the best opinion about BOC (not as bold as you) a couple of people here went bananas. Good news is that this series is great because the scriptwriters are high quality.
This is exhausting, I know! - For all of you still dilly dally about the appalling behaviour of the teacher, this is what the Thai law stipulates: "Thailand statutory rape law is violated when an individual has consensual sexual intercourse with a person under age 15. However, sex with a minor under age 18 is a compoundable offense, regardless of consent." So if Non was one hour short of 16 and he may be in this category, it was statutory rape. If he was over 16 but younger than 18, that he was for sure, still was an offense. In this case, the aggravating factor is that the offender was his teacher - this case of scenarios are classified as sexual misconduct even in cases of 18+

(somebody have just insulted me here under your post for adding an example from another country, it was just a legal text. So I deleted that post and blocked that person. So here you are this is the legal situation in Thailand. Even if you disagree with me it is unacceptable to insult anybody for quoting a legal text!?. In my previous reply, I was also talking specifically about the offense that teachers commit when having sexual intercourse with a student even if he was not a minor - it is included in the category of sexual misconduct. A teacher is in a position of power and exercises an undue influence over his/her students. It is considered that there is not a proper consent in these cases.
You said in your post above that he was "almost" 16. My answer was following what you wrote, if he was one day short of 16 still is statutory rape. Now you are writing he was 16+, that's completely different from what you were claiming just a moment ago. Abduction is the forcible retention/removal of somebody against his own will! - so in the series, the official version was that Non even if he was not a minor was being held against his will. The same series is giving you a cue about the lack of consent in both situations.
