I feel like they could have done all that and still given the audiences great storytelling. Instead they chose the easy route and gave us this idol drama which wasted the mass appeal of the leads. I feel like it backfired but there was definitely gains from it.

Yes but that one was dud due to the scandal of the former lead! It was a decent script but seriously, that delayed it more. I ready for her to really challenge herself because she has the potential to be a scream Queen or a dramatic thriller.

First Youku do the bare minimum in terms of promotion for this drama, relying on the star power of the main cast to carry the marketing, they blunder the script, the directing is literally everyone, and now you have people getting screen time they don't need!
