Fair point. I don't think I've ever really liked him tbh or maybe it's because I don't like William Chan's almost lifeless eyes. He just doesn't emote well.

Honestly, Fianming needs to talk with Ashile Sun on how to be a ML. How to treat the woman you love with sincerity by treating her as an equal, embracing her individualism and capability while also being there for her as a pillar of strength. Not always sheltering her from the realities of her mistakes but letting her know after every mistake comes with a turn of redemption. His character has been stoic for so long that he's not doing anything for me and the series is almost finishing.

Neither do I! The cold, aloof or domineering ML is a popular drama trope in C-dramas but honestly, most of these characters are written in such a way that has no depth or no emotional payout. I don't know why they're still writing ML characters as if they're releasing these dramas in the 2000s. It's tiring to have to sit through a drama with these MLs. Jianming is basically a Mary Sue.
I really like the lady in waiting, Stewardess Yu, by Haishi. She's resourceful, resilient and listens to her commands. Bihong, wherever you are sis, please take notes so that you are a better lady-in-waiting in the next life
In reality, being in a relationship with someone like Shifu would be so draining and restrained. Only in a xianxia drama would there be a person with so much tolerance for a man like Shifu.
Every time I see Haishi and Shifu at each other's throats, I simply say "see sis, you could've been travelling and on adventures with Youdu instead you chose to be stressed out for the rest of your life,"
Why have they left her like this? All she does is cry, feed the Emperor, sleep with him, or all those other Consort stuff. They just left her here to kill time and that's all.
Their "almost first night" looked awkward but I swear, shit always happens at the wrong time. And omg, if I see anymore crying from Tilan, I'm going to throw my device away.
He overdid it as the innocent brother and now he's overdoing it as the villain. Girl, bye!
I like that sisterly moment between Tilan and Haishi - very touching. Actually, I am just happy Tilan isn't crying and shit in these episodes lol
But love truly is stubborn!
