I love my romance kdramas. Those can range from sweet romances to unhealthy codependent relationships that you'd never want to experience in the real life. The most important thing is the intensity of the feelings. I love it when the ML or 2nd ML is on the crazy side and wouldn't give the girl up no matter what. I live for kdramas like these.
Favourite dramas in no particular order:
- Born Again
- Cheese in the Trap
- Cunning Single Lady
- Secret Garden
- Shopping King Louie
- The Greatest Love
- The Heirs
- The Last Empress
- Empress Ki
Watched those so many times that if they were clothes, they'd have holes in them :D I understand that some of those are not the greatest pieces of art out there, but I love them anyway!
Please note that I rarely rate dramas based on my personal preferences. Usually I give ratings based on how well a drama is made, acting, entertainment level within its genre. So a fluffy romantic comedy can get just as high a rating as a serious piece of work, just because I think it was done well for this type of work. So on my list you can see shows that aren't to my taste, but are rated well and vice versa. Thus said I would never rate a show I don't love a 10, no matter how well it's made, 9 would be the maximum, I am not being fair I know, but I had to give at least a little something to my favourites which were beautifully made :-)
Most kdramas feel like 8 star watch, so it's a general rating for a kdrama in my case. Anything above or below that in my case means below or above par.
The ratings tend to be lower for other countries on MDL, because I often find the quality to be a bit lower. So a 7\6 could be normal for a jdrama for example.
