China censors are very fussy about following official history. Early Qing Dynasty had some incredible emperors…
I personally don’t think “SaJiao” is a common behaviour for women in those times. It only become trendy in modern times, which I cringed when I watched it and always wondered how/why men find such behaviour attractive. lol!🤷🏻♀️
Good guess but the Marshal Jiu (or the Ninth Marshal) that Ms Su referred to should be Zeng Guoquan, the 9th brother…
I have the same thought as Peach, I felt it’s partly instigated by Ms Su where Jiu decided to chose GPY. Moreover the other possible candidates, all seems to have certain influential background that can’t easily be persuaded to do this job and will definitely not take the blame if the whole scheme fail. No other businessman would be dumb enough to want to take up this role tasked to GPY.
Ms Su, talking about Marshal Jiu: "he isn't even qualified to wash my feet". Now we know why she is so…
Yes, Ms Su’s arrogant has a big part to do with her status. She is also fortunate that despite her father’s being punished and executed, the Qing empire is giving her the dignity to be who she is because of her father’s past contribution.
Some ignorant is bliss, no sense of threats, no sense of fear and totally can’t comprehend the situation, even when told, he is still oblivious. lol! He is definitely suitable to be a good labour worker😅.
Very well written review, I enjoyed reading it. The points and summary you mentioned about this drama has totally resonated with me. I think the director has ideas but the whole execution falls short. The plot holes you shared are spot on and the intention of not giving viewers any explanation on the obvious set up of scenes and characters just makes viewers feel cheated. lol! I suspects that the director struggled to explain certain ideas and decided to just not explain and leave it to viewers to guess, but not done properly🤷🏻♀️. Btwn enjoy reading your comments on the page too, cya around.
Well written;) Feels like reading a drama commentary as the SLY’s story was being played on the background. Love your take in weaving in the Four Noble Truths of Buddhism into the representation of TLC’s journey.
I agreed with you. When I watched the underground cave scenes, NJL was not doing much in the fights and the hunters…
Probably. Just my opinion, some parts, I felt like I am watching an MTV, a few scenes put together then it ended just like that; then we have the next scene 😅.
I agreed with you. When I watched the underground cave scenes, NJL was not doing much in the fights and the hunters…
I have mixed feelings on the whole last 8 ep…just feels like certain scenes can be edited tighter and more emphasis on the plot development will be useful. Yeah, Ms Lin’s death was so anti-climactic.
I also wonder. I felt very likely fake or it was cut off. There are going to be too many plot points and too little…
Nope, I don’t think it’s possible to have a season 2. Just saying, that the director seems to want to hint that, by leaving some plots points unanswered.
I agreed with you. When I watched the underground cave scenes, NJL was not doing much in the fights and the hunters…
Because the hunters spent most of their time eating, sitting around and drinking coffee…their lack of practice and group coordination shows in actual fights, that’s the only explain I have😅😅😅. I am upset that the fight between NJL and Ms Lin was so short🤦🏻♀️. As if their early impressive fight scenes were gone completely wasted.
I felt the show down between the hunter and fiend was a lackluster . The hunter was no match with the fiend. I…
I agreed with you. When I watched the underground cave scenes, NJL was not doing much in the fights and the hunters were just being slaughtered. NJL’s action was severely decreased at the end. I understand that they want to give more screen time for her mother and YT’s saving her…but🤦🏻♀️
If I am going to keep all the characters: The fight flashback between Liu Yan and Tang Lici at the beginning of…
👍🏻nicely written analysis🤩. Ah Shui’s moments of saving TLC were indeed quite unbelievable and forceful. To me, Jeremy Tsui’s compelling performance is still the best villain in this show and his chemistry with Luo YunXi is just fantastic. Can watch their scenes on repeat mode🤩.
