I'm dropping this for the same reason I dropped 3 Nen A Gumi; I can't stand dramas where people in high-school…
Your loss. 3 Nen A Gumi was, indeed, stagey, OTT, impossible ... and very very moving particularly by the final episode where ALL WILL BE REVEALED. It's perfectly fine not to like that kind of narrative, though, and I can understand your complaints. I avoided it for years myself even though I went through the rest of Nagano's work, and only watched it in prep for this series, and was then pleasantly surprised. These stories are not remotely meant to literal, but instead highly allegorical about systemic societal issues, and it's utterly fine if that extreme didacticism is not your taste. You're missing good performances by great actors, though.

I'm confused with the related title, how it should be watched for continuity ?
The stories so far are completely parallel. I'm pretty sure the narrative in Student ended before the narrative in Teacher by maybe a day or two this week. I'll be watching Teacher before Student since it's the meatier, better written and better acted piece and looking to Student for more insights about the school. But if you find Magical Dying Girl Hikari more charming, there's little reason not to watch it first.

should i watch this? i feel like i will cry
Eh: just one person's opinion here, but The Best Teacher is far more likely to make you cry. I think this one is going for uplifting. ...but as of ep. 1 I'm not sure it's succeeding. Still, it might be worth checking out if all you're worried about is the heavily foreshadowed tragedy.

Will check it out, I like Mayu and Mana. Looks interesting so far.
Me too, and I like Hiichan as well, though I have no idea if she can act. ECOTVSubs has committed to doing the English subtitles. They announced today that TXT will be doing the theme song.

Gabbyusubs.com And most of the things spoken are subbed into something resembling English.
Yes - It appears it's been taken down. EP. 7 has better subs now on Daily Motion, but I'm not finding any other episodes out there.

I ran the Chinese subs through Google Translate and then edited them extensively. Here you go: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uDo7JC6wBMgwKVyBX4MzVfAdJhRhs2Kb/view?usp=share_link…
Download the file, download the RAW from an unlicensed site (search BL Metamorphosis eng sub to find one. I don't think we're allowed to link to them here). and then use a program like the free VLC to watch the RAW and select the sub file to run with it.

does anybody know if there are any alternatives to furritsubs? it won't work for me :( the only other subs i've…

ETA: I'd recommend the subs by furritsubs over mine since theirs is an .ass file (as opposed to my .srts) and, thus, has a better layout and appropriate colors for the backgrounds (that is, especially the black text on top of the white manga shots is helpful). You can find the link under the spoiler tag of a comment by kdoramalama further down these comments.

I'm in the finishing touches of subbing this, did it even without JP subtitles.
Great job on the subs and thank you!

Is this multi couple? Romance? Can you tell me a bit about the couples if any please.
I mean, yes, there are couples for each of the three successive generations of women in the family. But it's definitely not the focus of series. The first romance is cute but ands tragically. The second begins tragically but ends up enduring. The third is barely implied in the 112th episode. The series is probably not your best bet for romance, but that's true of at least 8 of the ten asadoras I've seen.

huh?
This moment of the show is Sakura's father's horrified fantasy that she just might want to have sex with a person she likes and is a direct reference to a scene from a very popular 1991 series, Tokyo Love Story in which the FL Rika asks the guy she likes, Kanchi, to come home with her. Sakura here is played by Nagano Mei.

Review Hiyokko Spoiler
In a sense, she does. It's well worth watching to find out how.
She becomes the basis for a manga character that her neighbors write which is a robot tanuki from the far future i.e. 2017.

Sounds like it might be Mosaic Japan, Sakamoto Yuji's rare artistic failure.

Title My Dear Exes
It hasn't finished subbing, which makes me wonder how reviews are posted already? Do they understand Japanese…
Or other languages - I think someone on the Asian Drama Watcher's Chat discord was watching with Chinese subs and has completed the series.

Title My Dear Exes
This is definitely the best show this season, the cast, their interactions and the vibe. Oh the vibe, how I wish…
Welcome to the Sakamoto fandom. Saikou no Rikon and Mother are also great - just be warned that Mother goes straight for the heart strings. Saikou no Rikon is a Sakamoto comedy and so, of course, you will cry there as well along with the laughs.

Title My Dear Exes
It has been announced that the series will be released on Netflix on August 1. It is unclear at this point (July 15) whether it will be available outside of Japan or have English subs.

yes especially if you watch the special episode
The final episode is an absolute must watch for this series unlike most recap/clip show specials.
