This is so boring. If a drama can't keep me remotely interested in the first half hour, it's a drop for me. Lasted 29 minutes of episode 1, then watched rest of it on double speed. Not funny, not interesting, dull. And I can't stand the female lead's character. A shame as I love Go Kyung Po, and I rarely drop a drama after Episode 1, but I'd rather watch a fly buzzing around my living room than this.

My Mister was notable for me.
So excited to watch it. Then got to the end of Episode 2 (after watching both episodes twice, as I watched Episode 1, then had no energy for Ep 2 for another 6 months) and couldn't muster any enthusiasm to watch any more. Completely uninterested in any character.
It is probably a very good drama, just not my cup of tea :)
7.8? This drama deserves more than that. I started watching few hours ago and I'm already on episode 3. Loving…
Never ever ever base your decision to watch a show on the MDL ratings. Most users here seem to go with popular shows, while a sizable percentage hate anything that makes them think, or that features characters who aren't "perfect".
I've found some of the best dramas I've watched that had horrible MDL ratings and some of the worst trash rated close to a 9 :)
Wow, this isn't usually my thing at all, but it's hilarious in a weird and odd way :) Only on Episode 3 so far, but it's a very entertaining, fun watch. And the acting is brilliant (amazing cast too!)
On Soompi, they announced that Viki has acquired this. Let’s see which region.
Probably likely but don't believe everything the "writers" at Soompi write.
Only this morning one article blathers on about The Roundup: Punishment having the biggest box office opening of 2024. Guess the "writer" forgot about Exhuma in February, which had almost double that of The Roundup :)
If I read anything on Soompi, I then check two other sources, as their "writers" are often more wrong than right. As an entertainment journalist, I used to list them as a source on some articles, but no longer do, as their information is often untrustworthy.
She is...2 years older....what age gap?? And you haven't seen the show, nor how she will perform for this. It's…
If I had enough blocks left, I'd have blocked her/him by now :) So bloody tired of idiots commenting on "age gaps" and "face gaps" because they don't particularly like the actress. And note how it's NEVER the guy these fools go after, but always the actress. Misogyny at its finest -- whether coming from an idiot girl or an idiot guy.
It's like the world's longest running soap opera -- the British show Coronation Street. My whole family used to…
Yep, used to watch Eastenders for years too (Brit here, but emigrated to the U.S. years ago :) ). Then new episodes became increasingly difficult to find in the U.S. for a while, so got out of it. Think my parents still watch it though? Great show.
i really cannot understand why almost everyone is criticizing this drama this MUCH and expect to characters to…
Me too! It's been one of my faves of the season.
Basically, ignore any ratings for any drama at MDL, as the site seems to be chock-full of entitled babies, who have nothing better to do than whine that a particular drama doesn't meet their "needs".
IMDB is a better indication (8.0 out of 10 currently), and even Viki's viewers (a site that over-inflates its ratings, but is still usually on the ball with how good a drama is or not) are rating the drama very high.
At this point, if MDL users are whining about a drama, I know I'll love it :)
I don't know why people don't like the FL....as a newbie she has acted well... she suits this role...As for Xiao…
She's brilliant in it. Easily one of my favorite all-time characters and actresses. The drama too is easily in my Top 5 Asian dramas of all time (still 10 episodes left to watch, and will be so sad when it ends).
i feel like if they said that in the first flashback she is supposed to be 14 - 15 years old people would understand…
She's one of my favorite characters in any Asian drama I've watched, and I've seen a helluva lot - most of which aren't on my MDL list as I've been watching Asian dramas since I moved to Thailand in 2002, so can't remember most of them :).
Her character develops throughout the series (I just finished Episode 30) but in small, subtle ways, which is how it would be in real life and not the drastic changes unbelievable dramas often push.
Plus, Ren Min's performance in this is absolutely superb. I'm already planning on watching everything else she has been in as, at only age 22/23 when this was filmed, her performance is magnificent, proving she really understood the character.
Started the drama due to it starring both Xiao Zan and Alen Fang, continued watching it not only for them (who are equally superb throughout) but also for her.
I'm still 10 episodes shy of the end (taking it slowly as I don't want this one to end), but this is easily in my Top 5 Asian dramas of all time.
Gripping from the opening scenes and, for someone who has the attention span of a flea :), I'm amazed I haven't been bored or restless once.
Plus, the cinematography, landscapes and soundtrack music are equally captivating. Could not love this one more if I tried :)
880 episodes? OMG! This is like the Hollywood version of TV series that lasted for many seasons!
It's like the world's longest running soap opera -- the British show Coronation Street. My whole family used to watch it when I was a kid, and I think my parents have probably seen almost every episode. :)
In 2020, it hit 10,000 episodes, so who knows how many its reached now? (It's addictive, btw, and you really grow to love and care about the characters when you see them 6 days a week (I think it's down to 4 days a week nowadays?)
those love triangle in every drama is getting on my nerves
It's lazy writing. The writer on this though is pretty much covering every stereotype she can, so that's to be expected there would also be a love triangle :)
She's a fabulous writer -- gets right to the point very quickly, which makes her work interesting, but this one is too full of tropes for me to enjoy it that much so far.
Yes, #1 Top most searched romance among all platforms and trending in netflix in top 10 across 40+ countries. Also…
It's "meh" after Episode 1 (that's as far as I've watched). The performances are great, but it's just not grabbing my attention. Will watch Ep 2, but if it doesn't become more interesting, and less stereotypical, I'll drop it.
