idk what is slow in it???? bc this is not a romance centered drama for us to wait for the leads to get together,…
I generally dislike romance dramas, so it has nothing to do with the lack of romance (Yay!). It's just slow moving, not particularly interesting so far, and the demons are completely one-dimensional figures -- even the what could have been interesting sister-in-law was gone in 50 seconds.

Currently mid-way thru Ep 3 and it's just not holding my attention (SZE's performance in the opening scenes of that episode is amazing, but the plot is just not grabbing me).

A shame, as this is one of the C-dramas that had been on my Must Watch list for eons.

Like I said, hopefully that will change as the two leads are two of my favorite Chinese actors. And, if Ban Xia becomes a lot less weak (which I'm guessing she eventually will) that may earn more of my attention as well. We'll see.

EDIT: Just finished EP3, and definitely more interesting than the previous two. So.... holding out hope :)

Of course. She was always innocent, but haters gonna hate
The Chinese tax agency literally declared she paid her taxes.

Still slow. Not sure I'll get thru more than a couple more episodes (just finished Ep 2).

A shame if that happens, as the cast is excellent, the CGI is decent and the premise is fun but I dislike Ban Xia (SZE is doing a brilliant job, her character is just annoying), and it moves sooooo slow it's just not holding my attention.

Hopefully that will change by EP 5 or I'll just move on I guess.

seriously we are going judge people based on looks? it's 2025 get that mindset out of here
Just ignore them. I always respond once to trolls to show them anyone with decent morals thinks they're morons. Then I just move on. Life's too short to waste it on idiots.

Oh and btw, MDL REALLY needs to make its block list larger. I was at my limit months ago, but there are still so many stupid people using MDL. Annoying.

ROTFL. What a moron. He's incredibly good looking. Literally known for his looks as well as his talent. Go away you utter idiot.

I watched the first 2 episode and I had a hard time finishing them, but it's only the beginning so I'm going to…
Same. It's slow moving and not that interesting so far. A pity as both lead actors are excellent but, if it doesn't grab my attention by Ep 4, it's an easy drop for me.

Thought I would drop in to see the comment section. Wrong move. A few people appear to have watched another show…
Ye Gods, NEVER read the MDL comments if you like a drama or if a drama is actually well-written. A substantial number of people using MDL hate to have to think :)

I didn't expect this one to be this funny. And Lee Dong Wook is brilliant at comedy. Just sayin'
Yep, he has amazing comedic timing. Even in shows like Tale of the Nine-Tailed, his comedic talents really stand out.

I’m a little disappointed because this drama had so much potential. I do like it, but I feel like the anime…
Loved the donghua (anime). It also has a satisfying ending.

i really liked this a lot start and end, it got bit slower and kinda dragging ...... zhi dai, tanyin 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹😭😭😭…
Loving it (still at EP27), but I think it would have been even better with a couple fewer episodes. Like you said, got a bit draggy for me after EP23 or so, but still enjoying it immensely.

It's the big problem with many Cdramas tho. They just HAVE to have 32 episodes, so drag out the plot into 4 or 5 more episodes than necessary, just to make more money per episode. Annoying really.

NOTE: For anyone who hasn't watched the Chinese donghua (anime) adaptation of the same story, it's currently streaming free on iQIYI. Although the story is MASSIVELY different.

I watched it a few months ago, absolutely loved it, especially because it has a true happy ending. (No idea if that's closer to the novel, haven't read it). Beautiful animation and a gorgeous art style, and a stunning soundtrack too. 14 episodes.

So which upcoming drama is premiering after this
The Immortal Ascension, which was supposed to premiere last month but didn't, hits soon as well, tho not sure it's this month? (Heard that might have been put off to the summer but that's just a rumor).

That's a must watch for me - huge Yang Yang fan, graphics/CGI look amazing, and love cultivation dramas :)

Depends on the year. Nowadays, age 18 like most everywhere in the west. For most of Chinese known history though,…
Yep, tens of millions of people around the world were forced to get a shot they didn't want just to keep their jobs. Disgusting, against any human right, and the governments/people who forced it on others belong in jail, IMO.

Sad for you that you were forced to get the 1 shot, but at least you didn't get the other 2 :)

And I'm fortunate as I work for myself, Plus, even if I worked for somebody and they forced me to get "vaccinated", I don't have children or a family to support, so I would have just quit the job.

But tens of millions of people couldn't make that choice because their kids/husbands/wives were counting on them paying the bills. So they were forced against their will. Feel very sorry for anyone who had to do that.

And yep, we banned my dad from ladders at the age of 84 after he fell off one himself!! Sorry about your neighbors.

it's happy I think but I think that jintan yin died ig and yuanzhong lost his memory
Wait, what? You didn't even watch the last 6 episodes and you're commenting on the ending????

Ye Gods, what is wrong with people today? So many fast forward thru/skip episodes/ skip whole scenes because "a character they don't like" is in it, and then feel entitled to not only rate a drama they haven't properly watched, but to tell other people how it ended.

Even though they don't understand the story or the plot. Seriously, I'm so tired of this. Really need to stop reading comments online, as they're destroying my brain cells.
