I don't get the harsh criticism and endless comparisons with LBFAD. To me the FL may not be the best out there, but she is still less cringe than the FL in LBFAD (so how ironic when people say she has a baby voice). And the ML is also a better actor (but Dylan has a loyal fanbase so he is always hyped), so I don't understand the outrage. Most FL in C dramas aren't particularly Oscar worthy and are mostly hired for their looks, let's be real here. The FL is not that unbearable and I think they have really good chemistry. Like the drama so far.

Exactly!! But maybe the ending of the drama will totally shock us and be very different from the novel (someone above said that). The promotions seem to indicate that Jing will be her main lead but the way the writers are building chemistry with the two other leads make me reconsider things.

Firstly, calm down. Secondly, I have no interest in reading the novel and thus base MY opinion on what I’ve watched so far. I find him weak, boring and just not worthy of a woman like the FL.

Agree and the drama makes him look particularly weak and pitiful, which typically indicates that he won't get the girl. I don't think I've ever seen such a weak character get the FL.

The FL and Jing have nothing in common. They would have honestly not even connected had she not saved him. And they have zero chemistry. I can totally see why XL would be considered to be her soulmate. They are bonding on a personal/deep level - not because one saved or pitied the other.

I made up my mind. I've decided to continue shipping her with XL until the end no matter what the novel or others say. I may end up highly disappointed but in my mind they will end up together. The two other males are wayyy to weak for her. :)

One thing I've learned watching C dramas is that everything is intentional. Did you notice in ep 14 when they are in prison and she tells him that no man would enter her heart, they made XL appear from the water. And I feel they are realy portraying the two other leads in a pathetic way (vs XL) so I would be really surprised if she doesn't end up with him. :(

It would be refreshing for a change if the FL ends up with the anti hero. I would honeslt applaud the writers as it's boring for the FL to always pick the obvious one.

You made me crack up with "give Jing to me or kill him". Hahahaha. Same, I really need her to end up with the XL.

Question for the experts - do we actually know whom is she supposed to end up with in the drama? I know in the book she doesn't end up with Xiang Liu but the drama is really showing signs of him being favoured so I'm not sure anymore.

I'm at episode 10 and I'm honeslty very bored and keep on skipping, which is unusual as I love Wuxias and I love Yang Zi. I don't think the writers did a good job at making the story engaging. I hope it gets better once she reveals her gender.

I don't understand your POV actually. You do realise that CWD has been wrongly accused of treason and he/all his soliders and their families would die if he doesn't fight back? The 2ML poisoned his soliders and yes, all fair in war to survive. If he was as awful as you are saying (which is 100% wrong) he wouldn't have saved the sisters over and over again, he wouldn't spoil the FL as much (despite her helping his enemy) and he could do much worst to both of them (soliders would do whatever they want of captive women). Also, they froze in the shed because they were stubborn - he offered to house them in a proper place straight away but they refused. It feels like we are not watching the same drama at all.
