Honestly, Netflix k-dramas can vary a lot. They take on many different types of projects, you never know what to expect. They got a good director and a solid cast for this. No matter the screenwriter it could surely be better. But hey, it's still early and I hope this comment ages poorly.
Fair enough, I don't love every single work by my favourite screenwriters either, but generally their past works are a good indicator. In this case, the ratings don't look very inspiring to me.
I can't believe anyone cares about this small part of a scene enough to be "outraged" by it. This type of drama controversy is stupid and is always blown out of proportion by articles like this one to make people angry.
This is why before getting hyped for a kdrama it's worthwhile to check who the screenwriter is and what their past works looked like. This drama is in line with every other work they made. If you want to see a good drama, look at the ones you already like and find what the screenwriters future or past work is.
Judging by the screenwriter, my expectations aren't too high, nevertheless, the cast is solid and the director is good. This might be more of a crowd-pleaser rather than anything too sophisticated, after all, it is a rom-com.
Does anybody have an update on how she's doing and if there are any upcoming future projects? She's incredibily talented and I feel like every year that goes by is a role she could've played woderfully. It's ok if she doesn't want to do roles but it would be a tragedy if she's not being casted for some other reason.
How is Jeon Jong Seo a rising star, she is 30 and has already made her name. Most of these actors are pretty big stars already. Kim Shi Ah would be a great example of a rising star.
There seems to be a little drop off in quality these last few episodes and some of the acting is not that great in general. Particularly Hyeon Seong and both of the dads actors, the writing doesn't help them either.
Can someone who’s watched it explain why the rating is so low?
It's probably too dark and mature for the typical kdrama audience. The amount of people who really enjoy a drama like this is very low. Personally I really like noir dramas and was very impressed by the lead role performances. Kang Hae Lim in particular is remarkable. Each to their own.
At the bus stop she was given two yellow bags but in the bus one of them was pink.
