S1: 2022, S2: 2027. Happy half a decade. I wonder how suprised Netflix will be if this flops. The target for this series was a younger demographic which means that a big part of the audience grew up and out of interest for it. I hope im wrong though, for the sake of the crew and cast.
The cigarette smoke shot of Gyeong-se was a great use of visual subtext. The characters and screenwriting are exceptional, and the directing follows through nicely. If you want to watch something of quality and substance, that might make you think, this is for you. If you prefer tropes, obsessing over actors' visuals, and generic writing to turn your brain off, you don't even have to search for it—it’s almost anywhere else.
Not a hate comment but i think most people will agree that she is wayy overrated for the level of acting/singing/dancing…
Jisoo's acting is indeed average in my opinion. Nevertheless thinking about better actresses not getting roles instead of her is not realistic. I dont think there is many if any actresses that can pull so many viewers just based on their popularity. When Jisoo is in dramas these are projects made with her in mind as a popularity guarantee. The reason these dramas are and can be created is because she will be in them. It allows for bigger production budget and that is quite clear when you look at her past dramas. Unfotunately most actresses cant get chances in such high level productions because there is a bigger risk factor so they usually grow their names gradually till they reach that level. I would love to se more lesser known talented actors get big opportunites, but for giants like Netflix, among others, there is not much incentive for it. I see much hate for stars like Jisoo being casted for roles but Jisoo doesn't cast herself, these big companies do, cause it allows them to play it safe and make money.
a new life is on the way! forget your prejudice...
For everybody's sake, let's just hope there is no legal issues that arise from this. Im not sure if everything is in the clear yet, but the father did agree to co-parent the child even though for him it wasn't planned. This is far from an ideal situation. I think we can at least agree on one thing- Good luck to all of them!

A woman can absolutely raise a child without a man. Would it be better if the child had a father along with its mother? Yes. An unhappy marriage can be worse than a divorce for a child; that's absolutely undeniable. But does that make a divorce a good thing for a child? Absolutely not. In this case, the father is tied to the child by law, and even though he didn't consent to have it, that still means he is responsible and has to be involved in parenting. The parents are divorced because they had disagreements, but they will still have to raise the child together even though one of them didn't plan to have it in the first place. Ideally, they would raise the child while being happily together. Is this going to happen? No. Is that a positive thing? No.

This is not about a single-parent family. These are divorced parents, and the child will have both a mom and a dad. I never said I had anything against the child, nor did I state that I would "think any differently" of them. Is it better for a child to grow up with parents who are together, or with parents who are divorced? How is this even a question? How can growing up in a family of divorced parents be positive for the child? If you had grown up in a family with divorced parents, perhaps you would understand. I have nothing against single parents, nobody can know what their circumstances are. I am simply stating the obvious.
No you shouldn't, You should just spend two seasons finding the island, then still being useless once you found…
He didn't get 456 billion, the baby did, and beacuse he is a trustworthy character the baby was left in his care. Also, you should mark your comment as a spoiler in regards to others who haven't seen the show. Same thing goes for others in the comment thread.
Seems like the Squid Game concept is to brilliant to let go. It's become a Netflix cash cow, and you bet hollywood is in on it. There will probably be even more iterations than that, a big franchise. Nothing will quite match this one, but im sure Netflix will invest even more in the next version. Lets hope they don't completely take advantage of the series popularity and actually get a quality crew and cast to deliver something relatively original and exciting.
Junho did absolutely nothing, and even if you removed all of his scenes from Squid Game, the show wouldn’t change…
Junho found the island and called the coast guard, which made them destroy the whole place. He also saved No. 246 (the dad). I'd say he was kind of forgotten, with little screen time, and was mostly used by the writer as a necessary tool to end the games and give closure. Still, even though the timing was convenient and his story felt hollow without a proper ending, he did serve a purpose.
Wow, season 2 is already coming. 2026 feels a bit too soon, maybe they should take some more time before releasing it. Maybe something like 2028, just in case.
Brainless Simp rating 8.8 while actual Top 2 reviews rating 8 and 6Simp exposed
Imagine other people liking things that you don't like. I know it's hard. Im sure your taste is superior to everyone else's. God forbid you respect what other people like or don't like instead of calling them brainless.
Says the world audience who would find this movie to be very controversial and with the rise of the internet and media since then people would focus on everything besides actually enjoying the movie for what it is. Younger audiences are much more sensitive, and no one would dare to make a movie like this. It was only possible back then.

I didn't realise that having divorced parents is a positive thing.
