Besides the “I love you” and not being ready for her to meet his parents. I wouldn’t say what they have right now is just sex and a boss-subordinate relationship. She left her dog there for him to take care of, she’s always at his house, and she’s actually involved in his daily life and friends.
Why is Bo Ran so good at acting?! His expressions are seriously on point. I have to rewatch some of the scenes just to catch all his little eye expressions! Overall, such a great cast!!!
Anywayyyy, here are my thoughts so far.
I guess this is why you shouldn’t date your boss. The power dynamic is so unbalanced, and honestly, I don’t think it was ever going to work out unless one of them left the company.
There are just so many assumptions and misunderstandings between them. ML thinks they’re in a real but private relationship, while FL thinks they’re only together for hookups. They’re both constantly trying to read each other’s minds instead of actually communicating.
ML lacks emotional intelligence, and his ego prevents him from showing his true feelings, even though he genuinely cares about her and likes her a lot. He tries, but somehow always ends up messing things up. He is just an A**
FL is insecure, scare and still pretty immature when it comes to relationships. She was wayyyy over her head whenever she agreed to be in a relationship with him, and his words really hit her where it hurts. Idk how she put up with him for so long. After a while, all those hurtful words just accumulate and become unbearable. I can imagine it probably made her feel small as a person.
And then you add the fact that FL is prideful, and she’s basically digging her own grave. I do dislike how she’s the one pushing him away and acting all weird about everything. Like girl, you agreed to be exclusive! If you think he brought another girl flowers or even went on a trip with another woman, ASK HIM. Why are you making assumptions and torturing yourself?!
Their attraction must be pretty damn strong. It’s like this undeniable itch that neither of them can ignore. No matter how much they hurt each other or try to walk away, they just keep going back for more.
Anyway, I really like the drama’s version of ML. The novel’s ML was a walking red flag, and honestly, it was hard to root for him even after she left him. Drama ML has more dimensions to his character, which makes him much easier to understand and root for. It’s nice to see that things aren’t always black and white.
I understand Susu, but time and time again, she’s chosen revenge or other people over him. She constantly fails to trust him or communicate with him. At this point, he deserves someone else.
This episode sucks. Huiju was so overhyped, she still hasn’t really done anything to prove she’s as badass as they keep trying to make her seem.
Honestly, it’ll be such a disappointing ending if they don’t become king and queen. There were way more interesting plot directions they could’ve taken besides bringing back the contract marriage paper.
They’re a great match for each other once they can feel comfortable and be their true selves together. They both have their own issues from the past, especially when it comes to how they were raised, trusting others, insecurities and loving others.
Xu Yan felt so unloved that she was willing to do anything to be with him, because she loves him and believes he gives her the support and affection she has been missing all these years 😭
Love this drama! FL and ML had so much chemistry. Honestly, Argan only felt unnecessary and overdone because they had to change the plot to tone it down 😝 and couldn’t stick to the book’s storyline.
