Definitely an iconic show, but the ML is waaaaay too toxic by 2023 standards, lmao. If you're watching it for the first time, keep in mind that this was made back in 2010 and didn't age all that well.

Ughhh exactly that's the pain in looking forward to CDramas! The uncertainty of if/when they'll see the light of day after being pre-filmed and wrapped up. Some even YEARS earlier! *finger crossed* I guess that this comes out soon-ish and isn't butchered to filth. 🦊

Not contesting that, hun. It's just that this drama (along with several other big names that actually aired) was announced (EARLY 2023) to be one of the big S-S+ production dramas that would premiere this year. Directly from iQiyi AKA the network airing it, the only other drama in their announced line-up that didn't air was The Demon Hunter's Romance, which had nothing to do with iQiyi and everything to do with the FL getting into a tax scandal effectively putting ALL of her work in limbo. Since FSM:YH was a drama that I was really looking forward to I was just sharing my anguish that they (iQiyi) weren't following through with their beginning of the year announcement and airing it. *no shade towards you, just further explaining my initial comment.*
Honestly, this is a mixture of good and cringe. I'm about 5-ish eps in, and it's not bad enough to drop but (for me) this wouldn't be a 10/10 either... For the lovers of the original that are hoping for a 2.0 of that, outside of the strong woman aspect this show has barely any similarities. Some parts are cartoon-ish and overdone, the romance though cute is nothing as passionate/sizzling chemistry as Bong Soon. However, the crime aspect of this show seems better done, 2nd ML is a hottie lol, Nam-Soon has her own charms/quirks, and the women in the FL's family are all boss bitches which is fun to see. (I would've preferred if the males in the family weren't such losers, but I guess that's to counteract the power of the females...) Overall it's a solid 7.5 so far. Maybe as I catch up to the current eps, and the romance takes off it'll get better.

I was genuinely surprised by the level of gore and fight sequences in both shows as well, haha! I haven't started Vigilante yet to ascertain where it falls in the spectrum, but as far as I'm concerned it sounds like another banger out of the SK Disney+ Action dramas.
Typically Korean Movies lean bloodier than their shows, it probably helped that they (Moving & Worst of Evil) didn't have to worry about broadcasting restrictions due to airing on a streaming platform.
