I'm assuming that "Ge" or "First name + Ge" is the most respectful way to address an older male, while "Gege" is the more affectionate way to do so, reserved for a closer older male.
it seems to me he's implying that calling him by his entire name is the most intimate of all? Reserved for a couple, or maybe only if the person being addressed is younger than the speaker.
But I'm making assumptions, and wanted to hear from someone who either knows the language or the culture.

Question: episode 17 where the ML visits the FL in college and attends a lecture with her, she calls him by his full name “Duan Jiaxu “ and he comments that she shouldn’t call him that considering their current relationship.
Does anyone know the context or cultural significance of this?

True. Slow burn. But definitely not boring. The build up is very nice.
We get to see the FL as a teenager with a crush. We get to see the ML being an awesome "older brother" figure who gradually falls for her in return. Definitely sweet (even beautiful) to see.

The impression I got was that she was gobsmacked from the moment she met him (by his looks), a feeling which was helped along nicely by how nice he was to her.
So she caught feelings at 14. But she only "realized" her feelings (or developed them more fully) at 17.
I was going to rewatch the show from the start soon anyway, but this question is just giving me incentive to start asap and pay extra attention to those early scenes :))

Question: Towards the end of ep 25 during the voice-over, the FL says "Our story began when he was 22", which would mean when she was 17 yo--the second time we see them meet on-screen.
But! At that point in the story, she was the one who worked to make that meeting happen because she wanted to see him again. And during flashbacks we do see that she had an immediate crush on him (back when she was only 14).
So, does anyone understand why she starts the count of their story at 17?

Agree. Give it to Taiwan or a different country that can do justice to the story.
I wonder who holds the copyright, if the author is making these decisions. I'm so upset.

Disagree. My gripe is with the story and the characters, not the actors. All the actors are great, the FL is very pretty. But the scenarios and characters themselves were ludicrous.

He was actually acting on Gangnam Beauty. The role is a very "cold" and reserved boy, which he played in spades. Very little emotions cross his face, you can only see it in his eyes. He did that intentionally and I imagine it was pretty difficult too since that persona is not his similar to his actual personality (based off interviews and Astro clips I've seen). So kudos to him, he did a great job delivering the role as it was indented.

Does anyone know what ever happened with "The villainess is a marionette'?
I saw a news article about a trailer but nothing else.
