Maybe i can just dm you about it. I'm afraid others may not want to read it if i really spoil everything...
Thanks so so much! I don't know how to reply in dm so i'll respond here. i appreciate your detailed info very much. very much looking forward to watching the show. thank you!!!!
should I watch todays episode or wait for next week?
It was a bit sad. The main and side romantic relationships had some developments. But the snippet for next weeks ep made it seem like we could potentially end on a cliff hanger of some sort for ep 9. imo watch this weeks ep then maybe watch 9 and 10 together depending on if my prediction comes true.
She hasn’t really gotten over her recent breakup with Ga-Eul before starting a new relationship with her divorced…
yup. agree with you.
otoh she was brave to make the decision to date him, taking that leap of faith.
in ideal romance land, he'd be patient with her and steady. her ability to trust was destroyed by her ex and the ml would build it back. unfortunately, in real life, and in this kdrama land, there are very few ppl who are baggage free. the ml has his own problems, past and present, to overcome and live with. there is only so much one person can carry or give in a relationship.
its sad for them both. bc he is taking his own leap of faith by being with her. a reserved and lonely man choosing to open himself up to her, but she isn't able to fully accept him as he is.
Do people here realize how recently the FL broke up with her ex as opposed to the ML?
At the start of the show the fl's ex had been traveling and out of touch for 8 months and she'd sent him a break up text but he hadn't replied so she was stuck. Then he shows up and they formally break up. she goes through all that fresh pain over again.
meanwhile, from context clues, such as the fact the ex wife of the ml has been working in the vacinity of the fl for a while to the point where everyone contributed to her wedding, and no one seemed to know anything about an ex husband, and the fact that the ml was brought in to the company out of nowhere, it all adds up to the fact that the the ml has been divorced for several years at least.
The fl is so raw bc her biggest romantic hearbreak is still very fresh.
so, ep 2, the convo at the repair shop...he actually did want to confess to her romantically but going off of her strong rejection vibes he changed his ask to a work thing instead?
His has been going on for a few eps but I don't get it.. Why did they switch their assistants?
the official reason they gave is so that shj, who is a new royal, would have an aide who is experienced and knowledgeable on the royal duties and palace issues she'll need to navigate as his new wife.
"He still never treated her badly" I feel like you may have missed their dynamic in the first half of…
you're absolutely correct that he's mediocre. without his wife, he wouldn't even be that much.
but i still maintain my original point that it was hj, due to her father's attitude, who made everything a competition between them and constantly rubbed it in his nose that she was better than him. i understand why she did it. but his "elitist" attitutude was a response, in essence, the only thing he could claim to best her at.
based on his personality and history, he doesn't take anything seriously. he wouldn't have been interested in competing with her, working hard to beat her, of his own initiative.
the only one thing i'll give him credit for, which was the point of my orig post, is that he has never once, in all their competition and bickering, brought up his mother or blamed hj for her loss. this is especially meaningful to me, since their father, from when hj joined their home, has always held that against her.

your points are valid. but i wasn't really focused on how capable her brother is or isn't. i was just pointing out that from childhood on, due to her father's attitude, she has taken everything regarding her brother as a pesonal competition. he only ever responded in return. left to his own devices, he'd have been an indifferent brother, or an indulgent one, depending on how she treated him. the only thing i'll give him credit for, like i wrote in my op, is that he has never once blamed her for the loss of his mother, and he could have quite easily based on his father's attitude and raising.
ty!!!!
What does he do and how does it end????
Please....!!!!!

Anyone know if this show is modled after it?
also, i kept seeing on social media that steve noh said on a variety show that somene dies? did i miss something? who died?
we didn't see a full ending like with qm's father.
"dastardly" indeed.
