Exactly. So since MDL is not regulating comments because of it's huge no of users (which is their fault) and we are expecting everyone to be following rules, when MDL itself is NOT enforcing any of the rules!! People gladly folllowing rules is never going to happen. Because humans by nature are driven by emotions. Fights will happen in platforms where people are socially allowed to communicate. Unless the admin comes out and specifically enforced these rules conflicts will continue. And I'm glad Goodreads is still pretty non-profights, so far, but who knows...

But it's people having conversations with other people, and people can't completely be devoid of personal feelings and thoughts while talking. So fights will break out. If MDL wanted this to be a strictly rating platform they should strike any and all conversations not pertaining to a particular series. Which they never do... So MDL has kind of come down to this.... A social platform where people can post almost any comment.

When there is a fight, I feel respect kind of flies out of the window!! Cause to some a fight is a war, (no matter how big or small the matter is) which they need to win and like it's says, 'Alls fair in love and war'!!!

It is though, kind of, because it's a place where people from different places, different thoughts come and talk and review and basically have anonymous conversations. It's bound to have differences of opinions and therefore fights.

See I don't think any place on internet can be conflict free. A social platform with no fights is like an utopia!!
