ah fair enough, but you are missing out because ep 58 has a great scene which made the comments on Viki explode (lol). Also, the very last scene of the drama was great with the opening song playing in the background - simply beautiful. I couldn’t stop smiling while I watched them.

Good luck! I am rewatching my fave scenes from Love and Destiny, that drama has an EPIC love story! The best in my humble opinion.

this drama is a case of “how to win my girl in 10+ episodes” - it’s slow burn as the ml is chasing after the fl…barely any skinship, just a decent kiss so far, and a few hugs.

In all of the pride and prejudice adaptations, and I have watched them all, the fl stayed true to her character in the novel. The BBC 1995 series was the best adaptation because it was the closest to the novel, and brought the characters to life. However, it was also an 6-episode miniseries unlike the films, so they had the luxury of time to tell the story faithfully paying greater attention to detail. Even the most recent film adaptation with Keira Knightly was well received despite it not following the novel faithfully.

I think the main issue here for novel readers is that both leads seem so different in the drama. Since the big deviations, which occurred in ep 16, the leads have different personalities which do not sit well with novel readers.

That is why they say “ignorance is bliss” because someone watching the drama without having read the novel will have nothing to compare it with and may enjoy it more.

I’ll have to see more of this actress because I couldnt stand her character in her last two dramas: Have a crush on you and Fireworks of my heart.

Adding the fl in Love & Destiny to the list. She went through so much but showed us every emotion - you could feel her sadness, sorrow, happiness, love, and more. With just one look, she spoke with her eyes. Incredible acting! Matter fact, I may rematch this drama again

Observation: Why do the army tents, barracks, camps look so luxurious? It makes me forget the ml is an army general and that a war is going on - dude is almost always perfectly coiffed. One of the most realistic generals I have ever seen in a cdrama was the ml in Princess Rebel. When that man appeared on screen in ep 1, at 18:42, and his reaction after being told that the carriage of his enemy had been found was a sight to behold!

As I said before, I feel like this year was the year of the perfect -simp mls. Even a vampire, ladies and gents, a VAMPIRE turned into a weak character with no boss moves and who willingly entered a jail cell for questioning. He was a gentleman-like vampire. He didn’t even reach Mr. Darcy level of cool lol.

I was disappointed in the scene where he makes that woman write all night long. It was so fun reading that part in the novel, but that scene seems so forced.

Try “fake it till you make it,” (modern drama) chemistry and acting feel very nature. Mature couple, no overacting or overdramatic. The ml is straight 🔥 lol

The chemistry between the leads in “forever love” was great and their relationship was presented in a realistic way. It felt natural to me.

I read the big reveal in the novel and there no angst because the ml straight up told the fl to get over it and that the good outweighed the bad. He already viewed her as his woman (the deed done). Also, at the time, the fl had not recovered her memories, she only found that the ml had lied/use her and that they were not married.

He did not follow her right away because he was mad/upset that she left without saying goodbye, also there was a war going on at the time. He couldn’t just leave his troops to follow her around. However, he sent his people stay guard at her home and report to him. He didn’t want anyone to steal her away, and by doing that, he prevented her kidnapping.

When he was finally able to leave and could no longer take the separation, he went after her with marriage in mind and seduced her every chance he got. An important point regarding the no angst in the novel is because these the leads were passionate. The fl lusted after his good looks and the ml was flirtatious and would say things like “did you miss me” with intent in mind.

Tbh, I am not really feeling the angst in this drama. I think it may be due to the fact that the fl looks so composed and poised in a lot of scenes that I find myself thinking out loud “what is she really feeling right now?”, while the ml is looking melancholic-sad but he has been giving me the same expressions for a while now…thoughts?

Ep 17-18 I think.

You need to upgrade SSS from pending to watching, because this show is one of the bests in my opinion.

Tbh, I feel like most mls in cdrama (historical or modern) are like him. I’d like to see a ml who is a social butterfly or have a playful nature. Xu Kai has starred in a few dramas where the ml is more playful

Regarding Ep 24: Am I the only who was getting annoyed with the interactions between the fl and Zi Yu. I was yelling at my tv “girl, stop with the pauses and talk faster” lol
