There are many ways to use someone as bait but he went to the extreme (acted as her husband and proceeded to lie and lie to her after falling in love). You forget that the Lu Wen issue came into a standstill and she was no longer a chess piece, so why keep her? Oh, he should’ve killed her because she was known as Lu Wen’s fave concubine? He also thought she was kidnapped (could also be an innocent). Finally, he only saved her to use her as bait, nothing more at the time.

Real talk: are we seriously going to romanticize the ml? His whole CJ persona is built on lies, deception and fantasy. Just because he fell in love with the fl does not negate his actions. Too many times, I see fls forgiving mls despite all the hurt they put them through because of love. In this case, the man she fell in love with - CJ - is fake. I don’t want her to forgive him easily and would like to see how they will fall back in love without any lies and deception.

Yes he didn’t in the drama. But in the novel, it’s a whole different story.

The whole workplace scene lacks clarity. It’s not clear if she was fired or she quited (because of various reasons including burnout). All we know is that she was competive and liked to do things alone. Some co-workers were also talking behind her back. Wasn’t she working there for a few years? Firing her now because she’s a workaholic and competitive seems too drastic. If she’s not a team player, there are many processes in place to help built that. I hope they will delve into the work issue further as the story progresses.

Regarding your point 2: definitely not a “you” problem as I have yet to feel chemistry between this fl and her co-stars. It might also be a “me” problem as well.

It is not clear to me what happpened to the fl at her workplace? did she get fired because she was not a team player? And did everything alone? I hope they will explain this aspect more as the story progresses.

Why would they get married? the drama is no longer following the novel since the huge plot device (the spring scene and what happened after) was removed.

I wished I had not read some chapters of the novel. Now I’m disappointed with some of deviations. Lesson learned
