is it? All her characters are the same, cold calculating.
I wish they'd give her more roles that allow her to portray her softer side. A character can be both intelligent and soft. I really like her in "Blossom," but most of her main character roles make it hard for me to finish her dramas. She's usually portrayed as emotionally unavailable, a which is ok if the main tag wasn't romance. It's hard to enjoy the romance when one character seems detached from it. It seems forceful.

I'm punching the air right now because you totally nailed it with your explanation! I've been noticing this shift for a while, where female leads are becoming more stoic, kinda like the male leads from back in the day. Honestly, I feel like the women in older dramas, even if they weren't physically strong, were still super strong in how they were portrayed. Think about characters like Minglan or the palace ladies from Empresses in the Palace – they used everything they had. Even though they didn't have much say, they still managed to overcome all these obstacles to get what they wanted. They knew how to get people on their side, and they did all that without having many rights. Now, it just feels like they're copy-pasting these smart, stoic female leads.
