Although I haven't watch this but I'm imagining the domestic audience will know all this. Perhaps you are thinking…
Correct...international POV. I still keep in mind that international POV is based on historical books, reviews written by international historians, scientists, etc. Which means that these are mostly distorted resulting in wars, genocides, stolen artifacts, slavery, stolen natural resources, impoverished countries, depriving women and children from education, children slavery till now, etc.
I cannot be sure that the domestic audience knows all of this. China is a HUGE country and there are still too many taboos. Such as too much desire to look like westerners leading to little selfesteem. But, hey, who am I to raise such a delicate topic that is plastic surgery.
Dang that is awesome. I was wondering who she was. I was immediately drawn to her when I saw the very brief scene…
In the 2022 Cdrama The Imperial Age, his acting was fantastic. I had watched many of his dramas prior to The Imperial Age and I wasn't that impressed. But obviously the director of The Imperial Age guided him extremely well. His role here in TVOA is another proof of his hidden talent.
There were the opium war and the tea war. If Cdramas could cover these subjects, there would be a better understanding of how the brits destroyed China. Such as Robert Fortune who stole the tea by any means. And the silk road to enslave easterner population. Now there is a toned down political revenge from all the countries that were under the brits' power. These countries do not ask for recognition but for reappropriation of their historical artifacts. They are reclaiming their history and their pride.
The script shows lessons to learn but to my view point too much of a subdued script on this matter. However I could sense the wordings raging from the chinese actors. Oh gosh, I love them all.
I rest after the 1st episode because I wanted to navigate a little longer in its dream.
Hours later, i am still wondering if it is another Nivarna in Fire. Am I still dreaming ? Is it my screen or my brain foggy ? Why has Santa landed on my roof that early ?
I need a glass of champ right now to finish this year with the arrival of this grandiose arts in its ensemble. Cdramaland...I love you.
Hey! If you are still interested in watching, it has all been uploaded subbed in English here. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8R-uen6FfFzidbM9f2f1vvZ1D7VI5-HB&si=h5U28NC9h_rkRL5C
Loved the first episodes on YT but too busy at work. Sadly YT took it off and it's impossible to find another platform.
Hope in future Cdramas no name like Haotian will be used...gives me allergy. Gao Hui, your declining memory saved your sinking boat. Shu Han, trying to shine through a full glass window...shameless.
What gives the impression of saving this story are : 1. the pure love of Si Ting's father. 2. Si Ting and her father memories such as the ride under the rain, the meals, his contagious smile, his tender voice. 3. the kids dialogue and pure friendship. 4. the good acting specially the kids whom steal the show.
fuck this, her Alzheimer supposed to make me liker her...fuck no...she used her brain on unnecessary things and…
Similar to The Story Of Ming Lan when Mo Lan tryed to kill and Ming Lan and her unborn baby. Then at the last episode Mo Lan is welcomed to the family gathering. This is the only matter I cannot understand in Chinese education. It is passed on to the next generations. through TV series, movies, etc.
Look, I hate the mother just as much as the next person but at least she's moving the plot along. Our leads are…
I was going to comment on Gao Hui easy way down from HER lavish stage play. She even outplays her LOVED grandson...what a wicked woman ! I don't minimize this illness. But for god sake couldn't the writer or screenwriter give me some solace by finding an ingenious motive ?
So she shared her life and bed with a man who never loved her. Loved dearly her r*pist brother. Brought up an unenthusiastic son. Was used as a trade by her own father. What a pathetic life !
And..and the husband emotionless when hearing about his wifey's illness. No doubt Karma can be a b!tch.
start from EP18 nothing is different, the much of action or thrill start from there as expected...it could have…
To my view point, Wang Shu Han has to much screen time. Several episodes back her family explained to their son the reason why to avoid Tan Si Ting. So I wonder why is the screenwriter using her screen time as fillers. I understand that she got a "job" in which she has no education, was it to prove her incompetence or her arrogance. Although I skip her scenes, I wonder why so much time on irrelevent scenes of hers.
I would have prefered to know more about Gao Hui's background story. I would have loved to understand where she comes from and understand her relationship with the other members of her family. I would really want to know the traumas that made her what she is. She is a complex woman and she is pictured like THE STAIN in the story.
