If I recall correctly around episode 23, the overview of the solar panels opened a subject that I wasn't expecting in this romance Cdrama.
On CCTV documentaries I watched how the solar field developped in China. This country with its differents geography, soil, altitude and degree of atmosphere is a paradise for solar panels industry.
In the 25th episode during which a lecture details not only the history, industry, economy and international commercial systems but also the financial reasons why the US restrain China in its production . I knew chinese PV industry was developing fast and wide but watching this subject explained in a Cdrama is like a slap on the western's face.
I skipped so many scenes even the main characters' scenes and I almost missed this PV subject that hasn't raised comments.
I'm at the 8th episode and looking anxiously for the next to air. I better wait for the airing of the 18th to watch the remaining 10 episodes as a daily episode is not enough for me. Cliffhanger at each episode daily is no good for my nervous system.
Cannot wait for his other works to come on MY screen. How amazing a story teller Cao Dun is ! I wish I could have just one journey in his head. Hope this year 2026 will grant me this wish.
I am just 3 eps in, but i think it very underrated with 7.6, great picture & cinematography, lovely character…
Cao Dun directing this mini-series is like a voyage. He takes his viewers to amazing trips. He is my favorite director. For everything he directs, I put on my backpack and let myself taken by the hand for an amazing journey.
Is the eng subbed improve? Although sometimes I could understand bad MTL, but last time i tried, my head goes…
I watched it at the time of its airing non subbed. My second time watching it subbed. By "disappearing" I meant, it isn't anymore on K!$$KH. Too many great Cdramas are difficult to trace after 4 years of airing such as the 2014 Red Sorghum. So grab that chance whenever you can.

Sub isn't perfect. With my knowledge of Mandarin and my desire to rewatch that series, it's no trouble for me. The acting is so good that it is easy to follow.
Finally found it subbed and to me Cheng Yi has outsmarted this role. I was flabbergasted when I watched it non subbed 2 years ago. A shame he has a short support role here.
The Imperial Age and The Vendetta of An are his best performances. One can see how the muscles of his face adapt to his emotions. He isn't the usual and expected pretty baby face, he embraces his characters' maturity in its essence in both these Cdramas. No wonder, he has professional directors to raise him up.
After searching for 2 years I've finally found the 2022 Cdrama eng sub The Imperial Age in which Cheng Yi is giving a stellar performance. In my opinion, the second best after The Vendetta Of An. It is a must watch.
I rated it 10 for the brave crew, cast, director and his/her team. The tag as a fiction is exactly putting one's head in the sand. It is a historical event and the ones that granted immunity to the surrendered japs in return for their experiments are also criminals.
Finished watching it yesterday. Great story, acting, wardrobe, props, scenery, architecture. This script was made for Rem Jia Lun His scripts are so long, so detailed, one can noticed that most of the time they were delivered in one take. What a phenomenal memory ! Also rare are translations so accurate. I read your comment and thank you. Now time to get more details on Macau, its geography, its people, its customs and traditions.
I think the case wants to explore the condition of ‘non-binary’ gender identity. An individual who may not…
Prior to reading your comment, the subject was more on the spider cases and I was going to drop this story (crawling creatures on screen give me nightmares). Fortunately your comment piqued my interest. So, before going further, I wonder how far and deep the writer has developped this subject. Isn't it a taboo in Cdramaland. ?
I made it. What a ride ! Ren Jia Lun's script was very long and most of the time in one take. I cannot remember so long a script by an Chinese actor. His script was detailed and mesmerizing.

I shall finish Man's inhumanity to man. And for this story it's 1/2 episode a day.
